松花粉 is pronounced as "song hua fen"

It refers to pine flower pollen, which comes from the following two species of Pine:

1. Pinus Massoniana Lamb.
2. Pinus tabulaeformis Carr.

another name for it is " 松黄 ", pronounced "song huang"..
you could refer to: http://www.jkgz.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=86&Itemid=96

There are actually 2 ways to intepred this.
松 = pine
花粉 = pollen
Together = pine pollens.
or
松花 = pine flower
粉 = powder
Together = powder made of pine flowers.

Frankly, neither really makes sense to me.

I'm not Chinese but it sounds like "pinecone" or "acorn." Pine trees are bisexual and don't produce pollen, duh!
