I was told I was not clear on a question I asked before. Ok, let me say it in detail. When my son was hospitalized for seizures as a newborn, I had to go another hospital across town for a biopsy on my neck because my doc thought I might have lymphoma ( I don't, shukr Allah). With more than 20 miles left to go, the metal belt that surrounds the engine broke because this was an older car and I was still married to the one who is now my ex. I know nothing about cars, but this thing made a loud "crack" and the car kept idling, and I had to carefully keep driving until it refused to go any further right in front of the entrance to the hospital's tunnel (you take an elevator up as this is the staff building entrace). I was thinking about it yesterday and am wondering, as I know nothing of cars, was it an act of God that I was able to go more than 20 miles and end up stopping where I needed to, or is the metal belt around the engine not needed?

Interesting.... When the timing belt breaks you normally just coast to a stop because you have no way to shift gears. I think it was God protecting you. 20 miles? SubhanAllah! And then you stopped in front of the entrance?
Yup definitely God.

I don`t know much about cars either,but the way I look at it is ;
Even if the belt around the engine was not needed for its running, and the car kept running cos mechanically it was not missing it .... it was still in God`s hands to keep it running. If God wants to harm something, according to His Infinite Wisdom He can do it without any excuse of belts or engines, and if He has Decided to preserve something He can do it even if the engine was completely screwed up..... for Him everything is possible. All these physical phenomemnon are for our understanding, for Him these all are His obedient servants. Every morning I start my car, and I know nothing is wrong with it, I still put my trust in God, knowing that He can harm me through this car anytime He wants, even if I checked all aspects of it yesterday, and I know that if something was to be wrong inside my car that I didn`t know, God would keep it running if He has Decided to protect me.
So that particular day in your life, God had decided that He will allow you to reach the hospital, and He did. The reason why the belt problem was revealed to you by God was for you to get the hint that there might be so many other times that something is wrong inside your car and you don`t even have a clue of it and you use it unknowing that God has silently been bestowing His Mercy on you. Also I think sometime that day you must have remembered God or done something good. Or that during your drive and realisation of your belt problem, that day you must have made sincere prayer to The One True God, inside your heart, so He helped you.
For Him helping or not helping us is not a big deal, cos He can do whatever He wants, but for us it is make a difference..... and He uses these tools to bring us closer to Him, and realise His powers.
Hope your son is doing great.
God is the Greatest.

The metal belt is the timing, it's definitely needed and a broken chain can stop the car running or under certain conditions cause big engine damage.
It's not unusual that your car idled down after the chain broke, but there is curiosity in the way your cam ran out of momentum right in front of the door. :)
edit** did you say twenty miles??? well in that case the belt can not have broken fully at the start, an engine cannot idle for 20 miles without timing it must still have been turning till the last, if the cam is not turning you stop, if you don't stop the crank will bust your valves and you'll still stop.

I would only hope that you see God's hand in this. I have heard many stories like yours, where someone was in a near accident or could have been because something happened to their car. Most of those stories they said they began praying to the God in Heaven and they believed they were miraculously saved. Some even proved it after a mechanic looked at the vehicle and said he had no idea how they were spared. God will always help those in need who ask, and will help them who are true to Him when they don't ask. God will also help those who He is trying to reach but may not yet understand or know Him. God has a purpose for everyones lives. He knows what your furture holds. Maybe He has some plan for you.

Sounds like a possible miracle to me. Were you praying at the time?
Maybe God figured you had enough to worry about already, and he cut you a little slack.
I once had a blown engine on a chevy van miraculously repaired by angels, courtesy of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The van continued to operate just fine for another year, and about 10,000 miles, before I finally junked it.
God is good!

God is constantly talking to us, always by our side. Unfortunately, most of the time, most of us don't realize this. The more you see the hand of God in everything around you, the more you are growing spiritually.

Most definitely, this is absolute proof of god's existence. I believe that any and all coincidences should be considered absolute proof, and you should completely devote your entire life to god on the basis of encountering such a coincidence. You are welcome.

BTW, the belt in a car is very important.

I have an old car myself and something is always going wrong. Luckily, I get my car fixed for free thanks to my opa who has taught me a little about the mysterious ways of the car.

If God was really watching out for you, your car wouldn't have broken down at all.
