Yeah Brian they chose the Serpent's lies. Therefore Eve did not have faith in God. God said eat of the tree you'll die, so dont do it. Eve thought, hmmm, Gods full of crap, Ill eat of the tree, Ill go with what Satan says instead of God

Eve allowed a desire to build up for something that was off-limits to her and Adam. That was the fatal mistake. The path that led her to sin.

When Satan told her that she would benefit from eating the fruit, instead of ignoring the snake he used to talk through and sticking to the law God gave to not eat from the tree, she let a desire build up for the fruit. Genesis 3:4 says: "Consequently the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was something to be longed for to the eyes, yes, the tree was desireable to look upon. So she began taking of its fruit and eating it......"

James 1:13-15 helps us see how allowing a desire to build up can lead us to sin. It says: "When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death."

There's the first example of MIS-using your "free-will" and then dragging someone else into it (Adam) and having to experience the consequences.
God didn't make us ROBOTS! So like He said in the 5th book of the Bible:
I place before you today life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life that both you and your seed may live!!
And that word live means "live with all the abundance and glory and life God created for you"!
By the way, Adam received the instructions from God and we are not even sure she got this info 1st hand and she even said "she shouldn't TOUCH it", so where'd that come from"?
When she disobeyed, the Bible says she was "deceived", but when it happened, nothing was the result; she gave it to her husband and he ate "knowing his commandments", and when Adam ate, the consequences were set in motion.
This is the exact principle of Adam, "the head" being accountable and having the "power of authority'' for the family, and "the heart" being the helper and "the influencer" of the family.

i do not think it should be a question of faith.
if you believe the bibles account in genesis it is evident that god instructed adam and not eve, thereby leaving us to theorize how adam may have communicated to eve.

eve was not yet created when instructions were given to adam in genisis 2.

eve said to the serpent, "god said we shall not 'touch' the tree lest we die."

however this is not what god said according to the scriptures in genesis.

this may be how adam communicated to eve noting her probable curious nature, perhaps trying to put 'a right fear' in her.

i believe the first sin if genesis is believed was not disobedience but fear and the second was blame and denial.

when god questioned them
eve took responsibility by saying, 'the serpent deceived me and i ate."
adam however directly blamed eve and indirectly blamed god by saying, " the woman you gave me, gave to me the fruit and i ate."

this is still happening today. it is rare to find someone who will be open and honest about their fears, weaknesses and actually own their own wrong decisions or actions.

Do you believe the story of little red riding hood is true?

Do you know that dogs have to be trained before they can do any tricks?

So if somebody does not know the meaning of traffic lights, do you think that person will have a long life?

Adam and Eve were created good and perfect. Adam and Eve made a choose to follow the Devil and his lies instead of the true and living God.

Because in general, WOMEN are really more weak than MEN. and the WEAKNESS of MEN are WOMEN. Satan knew if he tried tricking Adam instead of Eve, he will fail.
