I'm looking for somewhere to have a nice talk in a romantic environment. I am planning an expensive trip so money is tight now. I need a cheap place, ha ha! Something with a Thai ambience maybe. (The lady is not Thai, but she loves Thailand...)

Also, I need something that won't be ruined by the daily rain this season.

Any ideas?

Thanks for all your answers! Some additional thoughts:

Madonna: (Yes, I phrased it a bit weird, ha ha!) We got drowned at Lumpini night bazaar on Saturday night, the big canvas thingy leaks all over the place... But hey, that's where we fell for each other in the first place, so it was pretty good after all.

I was thinking of the rooftop restaurants, but wasn't sure which one.

I had also thought a lot about the riverside, but I am worried that it will rain. (I am assuming these restaurants, etc, are outside...?)

Oh, and for the person saying to get in the back of the car, well... Here in BKK I only have a motorcycle... Won't work that well...Thanks anyway though!

Any specific riverside places someone can recommend?

Define cheap? I spent a month in Thailand and only twice paid more than $5 for a meal (not including alcohol if I drank). I also found some places to eat for under 50 cents (in a rural area, not at all romatic).

The Baiyoke Sky Hotel has a great place to eat on the 81st floor. It is (or once was) the tallest hotel in the world. It has food from all over the world (authentic food to please the foreign tourists).

That meal cost me about $8. And afterwards, you can go to the top of the tower and see an amazing view of Bangkok.

What about meal at tip top restuarant after soi 22 after flyers bar and the new Volvo car showroom it is not hi so, but the food is to die for..

You can tell with the amount of Thai's taking their boyfriends and husbands to.

And then a romantic walk in the park nearby finally window shoping at emporum.

With maybe buy her some flowers at the villa shop nearby in soi 33

Good Luck, she deserves some one who takes the effort like you..

I was thinking of the river banks of Chao Phraya river under one of the massive bridges watching the night skyline, traffic , people and boats passing by. Get a fast food meal and share, or even local Thai food and beer to top it off. How much more cheaper and romantic can it get?

The restaurant at Baiyoke Sky Hotel. They have a restaurant that offers an excellent, panoramic view of Bangkok..great for a romantic evening.

Expensive trip and a cheap location for a romantic talk? Be careful, that the Lady doesn't run off.
