I've seen alot of posts in here by christians saying that we are all "sinners" for not believing in god and the only reason their going is cus Jesus died for them. A few problems here. Jesus had to be shopped in by someone elese!! Are you all forgetting about Judas? Another problem with this thinking is if a child is born with severe disability and an inability to do anything your suggesting that this child is already a wrongdoer in the eyes of your "lord". I personally find this disgusting and if this is the extent to which he'll go to make a few people admit in his existence I'm happy I'm going to hell!

The question is this, how do you look past this and still have faith, or is it just fear?

Huzzah for someone asking the questions needed to be asked!

Seriously though, God gave us free will, He even gave us "the will to defy his love" (section from a book called "My Catholic Faith"). Now if God gave us the free will to do with our lives what we want to or feel we need to, then who are people to judge us in our own right and tell us we're sinners for exercising one of the greatest gifts God has to offer?

The problem is a lot of it is blind faith. A lot of "christians" when boiled down to it just really don't get their own religion. They learn what they are told, and interpret it as "fact", and quite often don't even begin to question why, or make opinions of their own. Not everyone is like it I admit, but its' more common to be subject to "blind faith" than people care to realise or admit.

Its' not just the same with christianity, there are people who are the same in every religion too. Honestly I think people really need to start thinking about the Bible or Qur'an or anything similar and reading it to interpret it themselves sometimes. Properly, not just listening to someone read it in a service once a week, but to actually sit down and interpret what their Holy book actually says.

Another thing people forget though is that its' all about FAITH, and nothing more. One man's faith is another mans'...non faith for want of a better term. Just because you believe in something, doesn't mean you should subject everyone to it, as you take away the "free will" if you're not careful.

As for your question, TBH, it comes across as being more of a mix between the two. People ultimately believe in purely what will suit them at that time, whether they like it, understand it, accept it or otherwise. People can call a lot of it "faith", but quite often its' the promise of a beter afterlife and the fear of eternal torment in a life beyond this one that can get to a lot of people. At the end of the day though, fear and faith really aren't very dissimilar at all, on the contrary they're more "akin" to each other than we all realise.

Just my 2 pennies.

Toodles

This might seem sensitive to you, but in the actual sense, it isn't.

Whether, the child is born with the inability to talk, that is not the case. We have a very serious case at our hands than "a child born with severe disability and an inability to do anything" - we have billions of people, who, by mere existing are deserving of going to no other place but hell, should they die in the state they were born in. If we are to trace the person at fault, it is not so difficult to find that it's Adam.

Finding fault however does not solve the problem. All people, regardless of race or religion, color of their skin - jews or not, back or white, trace their origins to Adam, as far as God is concerned. Regardless of what all these people believe, what the God who created them say is final. I agree, it might look stupid and quite unwise - but by the mere fact that it's God who said it, that seals all the arguments and makes that statement the most wise words to be spoken or written than all the books in this world combined.

And this God who created every person in the world - religious or not, atheist or not, has pronounced the entire human race sinful from birth. We are born sinners and no amount of right, good, holy, peaceful and happy living can cure the sin of mankind. This sin we have inherited it from Adam! That is the case we have before us - that is a very serious case indeed than "a child born with severe disability and an inability to do anything".

That is the case we have!

By now now it should be clear that all humankind needs help, and needs it urgently! That's what the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about! God's love and forgiveness for mankind - and that love and forgiveness is found in Christ Jesus.

You will do well if you think about these things, for they are a reality indeed.

Have a great day. God loves you!

We are all sinners, not because we don't believe in God but we are born into sin. It's because we have faith in Jesus and except the fact that he died for our sins that will get us into his kingdom. The only way to Heaven is through the Son-Jesus, Because he died for our sins he will be the one that forgives us of them. As far as being disable or not being able to comprehend this God understands this. God is a just God he is not going to punish someone that knows no better. He is the Father of all. It is no different than you having a 2 year old child, you don't punish him for something he don't know any better for. When God talks about fear for him it is an understanding that he is most powerful and he can give or take away that is why he cast Satan out of Heaven because God gave him powers and he thought he could over power God, so the kind of fear of God is a healthy fear. Most of all God wants your love. Just as if you had a child you want his love but also want him to understand fear that if he dose wrong there will be a price to pay. We are Gods children!

Christians tend to spout a lot of nonsense about sinning and sinners, and use the bible to mis interpret the meaning, therefore there will always be an oxymoron or a double standard. They will of course find another quote from the bible to balance the discrepancy, yet they do not seem to realize the conflict or understand the hypocrisy of it all.

Below is a description of the different meanings of 'sin and sinning'

sin1 (sÄn)
n.
A transgression of a religious or moral law, especially when deliberate.
Theology.
Deliberate disobedience to the known will of God.
A condition of estrangement from God resulting from such disobedience.
Something regarded as being shameful, deplorable, or utterly wrong.
intr.v., sinned, sin·ning, sins.
To violate a religious or moral law.
To commit an offense or violation.

Don't understand your point about Judas. He betrayed Jesus. Of course it was destined that Jesus was going to be sacrificed for our sins, but God can use the sinful desires of men to achieve His purposes. I know some muslims think Judas substituted for Jesus but this idea is not in the canonical gospels or epistles. It may be in one of the 2C gnostic 'gospels'; I don't know.

*As a race*, we are sinners. When we believe in Christ's message of salvation (Romans 10; John 3) our spirit is born again, is set right with God, and the Holy Spirit can dwell in a new 'stone' in His temple. So small children haven't done anything wrong externally, but have the selfish inclination in them, as we all do, even the Gandhis.

If people die as young children, or they are mentally incapable of reasoning, God is just He so doesn't hold them accountable; they are born-again after death presumably [there is no verse explicitly stating that but christians of stature in this and past times have believed that].

People in other religions who have not been witnessed to about Christ by the Holy Spirit, and don't know any better, but have faithfully and with good heart sought God, will presumably be judged fairly, and given a sight of the true message of salvation so they don't have to face judgement according to deeds. That is my thinking, other christians may think differently.

I have a friend who says SIN stands for "Self Inflicted Nonsense", and that's a good way to put it.
Sins are nothing more than mistakes, and we all make 'em!
Of course Judas had a part to play in the drama.
I'm not with the crowd who thinks little kids who die without being baptized go to hell.
Children don't often realize when they do wrong.
"Perfect love casts out all fear."
The God I have known all these years is a God of love, compassion and forgiveness.
I know as long as I love Him He will keep leading me to a better life, and eventually to heaven.
We're not sinners for not believing in God...
we're sinners because we are born human, and humans all make mistakes!
God knew this, and sent Jesus to come make the way for us,despite our many screw-ups, to be able to get to God anyway!
This is the God I know and love...the God Who makes a way for us to get to Him, even if it meant His only Son had to die!
You don't need to go to hell, friend!
Why, everything God could do has been done so you don't have to go there, and from what I hear it's not a very happy place at all.

There are many Christians and many of us got it wrong regarding judging others; we should not judge. Ultimately God is the Judge and not any human authority. God is bigger than any religion or ecclesiastical authority. In the Christians' own book it is stated that 'God has no partiality'. Just as well because there are so many people who think that they are dammed because they they think the church says so. The best that the Christian religion can do is to give you guidance. Ultimately at the level of the heart the rest is always between you and God.

I didnt know whether/not to reply yo this but I will assuming it is a genuine question.

'we are all sinners' is not because we do not believe in God, It is because we are born and live in a world of sin.A disabled child would not go to hell. Common misconception, the Bible is not a book of rules and regulations strict to the very letter. Everyone is judged differntly. God is all knowing and he see's our hearts.God does not inted hell for his children
