I have a large clientele of black women though I'm not black am spanish/japanese. You can get the honey blonde but be careful if you have been relaxing your hair at all. Also I really don't recommend any over the counter remedy for this as it can be risky and damage the integrity of your hair as well. Do you have colour on your hair already? Colour doesn't lift colour and you would have to use bleach and tone. They do have hi-light colour for dark hair which is gentler and I have lifted my clients to a nice carmel or honey blond colour as well with good results. Goldwell colour is ideal as well as Prymary Syn. Hope this helps and good luck!

This is definitely a salon process! The peroxide in drugstore/retail haircolors is not high enough volume to lift dark hair to your desired blonde. At best, you'll end up with lighter, but very brassy orange hair (that will require a salon trip to fix).

This I know from personal experience. My dark brown hair (I'm Italian) was Lucille Ball red for 2 weeks when I tried going blonde. That was 15 years ago, and I have learned a lot about haircolor since! Turns out, it's usually a 2 step process to lighten dark hair that much & the product for the crucial second step is only available professionally!

I would also suggest a salon because, from what I've learned and what friends tell me, your hair is more fragile than mine. Going considerably lighter can be damaging (to any hair) and you'll want a pro who knows how to get results with the least damage possible. I had frizz...oh did I have frizz afterwards!

That color is very dramatic. If that is what you like go for it! Personally I think you should dye it a little lighter than that...maybe a dark brown. Maybe you should try this first ....Long layers at the bootom of your hair dye dark and then leave the top blonde ***The dark will really bring out the colors of your eyes!!!***** and it won't make you look "washed out" because your tan BUT remember it will be very hard to get that color of blonde back after you dye it that dark!

From one sistah to another, there are two things that you can do.

1. Buy a permanent color in honey blonde, not a tube or the liquid, and follow the instructions. You can also mix some peroxide into the dye to help bring it to the desired colour.

2. you can mix 40% peroxide or close to that strenght and bleaching powder and strip the hair and then color it. if you bleach out your hair, it will become weaker and you will have to take good care of it.

But the bleaching may be necessary if you have hair like mine that is very stubborn and will not colour otherwise.

I've been every shade you can think of...but I do love going blonde. You really should go to a professional, and they will tell you what you need. They will use a lightener most likely before they use he colour you want. I remember a stylist used some colour called Irish Creme, but I'm not sure of the brand. It came out pretty well. Again, see a professional, don't attempt it yourself.

Good luck!

Yes it will work, but get it done in a good salon. If you use a box u get at the store it will end up a nice shade of Orange.

if you have blonde hair that will naturally get bleached by the actual sun in the summer. There was this guy in my class who had golden blonde hair that has been a medium brown near the bottom. When he came back to school after summer vacation, it was nearly platinum blonde!

Jet black hair. I have really dark brown hair and I consider dark hair looks better. I may really like blonde hair.
