I think a Gothic Medieval themed wedding would look really nice and could also be a lot of fun to put on. the bride and groom could even dress as the king and queen while the guests at the wedding reception acted the part of the court while the bestmen played the role of the knights and the Bridesmaids played the roles of the ladies in waiting. and the immediate family of the bride and groom would play the part of nobles.
----------------------------
I myself would be open to the idea of a Gothic Wedding. I would also love to throw in a few of my own ideas if it was my wedding. the wife can't have all the fun.

I'm not a guy but a wedding is for the bride and the groom not just the bride as so many women seem to think. Tell her just that and let her know you are totally uncomfortable with a goth wedding and if she insists then tell her you prefer to elope.

How can you marry someone that you don't know? Of course I wouldn't marry someone that doesn't have the same ideals that I have. We wouldn't get along.
This is the person you're going to be spending your ENTIRE LIFE with and if you didn't know she was into Goth by now then you don't know what you're getting into.
Remember the oath, " Til' death do you part". I hope you don't end up killing yourselves because you can't bear each other and find every single day of your life miserable. Depression can kill you.
It's a mistake and, " he is totally against her ideas". Just like your comment said.

I think a Gothic weding would be cool. I'm into things that are different. I like heavy metal music, and wicked stuff like that. Maybe you could have two weddings. One for you, and one for his family. If you are into Goth, then he should already know this. Are you sure you are with the right man? The one that knows you through and through?

Compromise. If you can.
The wedding is NOT all about the bride, it is about the bride AND groom and BOTH opinions and wants should be looked into and if you have to, compromise.

Yes, I would. My goal was always to make my woman happy, and if that is waht she wishes, we can work something out. Life is full of comprimises. And I think it would shake things up a bit. Every man should be willing to make his women happy. And the same goes for every woman making her man happy. After all what is a relationship without happiness right?

If we were getting married alone she can goth it up all she wants. However when family is involved you do have to consider the big picture.

I asked my fiance's opinion and he says a wedding is about the couple, not one half of the couple, and this is your first opportunity to learn compromise, it's not all about the bride
