I've noticed a few. I'm wondering if you see any personality traits in people that are Atheists.

One thing I've noticed is we seem to be more self confident than average. We like unusual hobbies or music etc. The atheists I know in my real life and on here are totally unashamed of being "a little different and non-conformist"

Fernando: Not to be "smarter" but it's "THEIR" lives. Not "there" (which denotes place)

"One thing I've noticed is we seem to be more self confident than average." ===that's because we don't live in constant fear of our beliefs being disproved because we OURSELVES are ready to change our minds and are open minded enough to learn new things.we don't live in denial of reality desperately clutching delusions.we argue based on logic and common sense that any rational person should be able to understand.

Self confidence? BAH! Ask the people who know me, REALLY know me in real life... they'll tell you I'm battier than a bowl of fruit flies and don't like a single thing about myself.

I think our musical tastes tend to be quite eclectic (at least mine are). Imagine your iPod shuffling between Veggie Tales "Cheeseburger Song", then Rob Zombie's "Living Dead Girl", then John Mayer's "Waiting On The World To Change", then Flogging Molly's "Devil's Dance Floor".

Very strange... and yet not so much for me.

And not minding what folks think, being a non-conformist? Eh, that's an on-again, off-again romance for me. Some days I'll go shopping AND out to eat in my smiley face boxers, my nearly-knee-high toe socks, my "Clerics: Just because they heal you doesn't mean they like you" t-shirt that my husband bought at a D&D convention, and my gray bathrobe. Other times, I spend 20 minutes doing my hair and picking out a modest outfit just to go to the doctors office.

Anyhow, I think we tend to be more inclined towards rationality, science, social liberalism, emotional detachment (which I wish applied a bit more in my case), laughing at ourselves and others (all in good fun), skepticism, cynicism, drinking at the mention of Pascal's Wager......

I could keep going, I really could, but I doubt you wanted to know a bit of this to begin with, and probably wish there was a delete button in your head by now.

Apologies!

In a broad generalization:
They seem to be a little more "carpe diem." Or depressed, one of the two. They also seem to care less about what others think and tend to have high conviction in their beliefs. God knows it would be safer to be agnostic ;) And for some reason (could be coincidence), every atheist I've known used to attend a catholic school in the bay area.

We are confident people, and we can decide on our own. How we think, what we say and do are based on facts, and we don't ridicule theists. We respect the human race. Therefore, we always rebut silly innuendos and uncalled for comments by theists against us. Of course, sometimes we simply choose to ignore hypocritical statements from those hopelessly indoctrinated by religion.

Somewhere between smart and smartass, ethical, contemplative, and not without a sense of humour. If the world is a joke, you might as well be in on the gag.

In general, my atheist friends are quite intelligent. They have a strong sense of humor and tend to laugh a lot. They're nice, but don't allow themselves to be taken advantage of. And needless to say, they don't take well to proselytizing attempts.

The educated ones are fairly intelligent. The uneducated are as dumb as a rail. Also, hear, Atheists are really horny, but this is a stereotype : ) Hear that, another sterotype, Atheist women are animals in bed, no puritanicle guilt, so they let it all come out...........

They talk of higher intelligence but even more I see the courage to pursue the truth to the bitter end regardless of whatever lack of respect they must endure .

Well, the most obvious one is that we're just so much better than believers in so many ways.
