I lack belief in the existence of g0ds. I'm me.

Yes, I use "an atheist", but I agree, I don't like that a word exists to indicate a lack of belief. There are no aSantaists or aUnicornists.

The dictionary describes "atheist" as both a noun and an adjective.

You can be an atheist or be atheist, it doesn't really matter how you choose to word it, they both mean the same and are both valid grammar.

It doesn't matter to me which label is used.

I tend to say "I'm Atheist" much more frequently that I say "I'm an Atheist."

About Atheism as a religion... Don't kid yourself, it's as much a religion as Christianity, and it's so simple to follow that even a caveman could do it.

I usually say atheistic as I subscribe to many isms that make sense but I'm not really as sensitive as you seem . good luck are you likely to say one appears to be idealistic or is an idealist perhaps english prime would correct both of your insensitivities as put in quantum psychology please take time to look this up as it takes your sensitivity even further.
peace out

I would put that the other way; saying that I am Atheist sounds equivalent to saying I am Christian.

You are silly.

'Atheist' means not a believer in the concept of deity.

Therefore, I am an atheist means I am not a believer...
