you better make sure it's strep throat first. a lot of ppl think they have 'strep throat' but they don't. if you really have it, it should be so painful that you don't even want to swallow.

if you do in fact have streptococcus infecting your throat, you need to see a doctor right away for antibiotics.

most serious antibiotics aren't sold over the counter.

A 92 year old lady that I used to take care of told me to go to the grocerey store and buy a large ripe pineapple and bring it home and microwave it for 40 seconds on high then cut up half of it and put it in tuperware in the freezer and take the other half and eat it. after about 2 hours in the freezer take out the frozen pineapple and while laying flat on your back on the couch or bed slowley over a period of about 1 hour eat and enjoy ,holding a little bit at the back of your throat about every other bite. I thought she was nuts, but I tried it cuz I had tried everything else to no avail. And amazingley it worked soooo good and made my poor sore throat feel better then it had ever felt!!!Try it i promise you that u will love love it!!

Dont need to buy any medication from the store.
A good cure is just in your kitchen.
Vinegar. Just pour some into a cup and mix with water.
Gurggle it twice a day... Once in the morning and evening.
Guarantee that you will be well by the 2nd day.

You can use any of antiseptic mouth washes and gargle with them - don't swallow though. This should give you some relief. There are also lozenges with antiseptic/anesthetic properties which might help as well - here the brand is Strepsils.
Beyond that you could ask a pharmacist, or a doctor for further advice.

I just got over it. The best thing for me was just to relieve the symptoms. Halls and hot tea with honey in it worked the best.
