Ive tryed those belt they sell at targett. they work for a couple of weeks and then loose their stick. I cant do anything permenant. the first place that my 2 year old always heads is the refrigerator. I know shes not hungery. shes fed 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. she really doesnt eat the food, the plays with it. This happens at night when I go to work and my hubbies here watching her. Its to the point where Im shopping day to day and keeping very little food in my refrigerator. When Im home ill put her in her pack and play and then shes ok for a couple of hours. how do I make my hubbie more attentive towards my 2 and 3 year old daughters. do you know of any childproof gadgets for the fridge that arent permenant?

They go into the fridge to explore. They see mommy and daddy going into it. If you can get a gate and close off the kitchen. Hubby having to climb over the gate to get to the kitchen might make him more attentive. My three year old has been opening the refridgerator since he was nine months old. To keep him out of the fridge, I got him The word wammer. It's got the abc and phonic. He wants wants on the outside more then what's on the inside. Believe it doesn't stop him from putting his toys or grabbing the milk or anything else he has decided he is in the mood for however he keeps it closed more often because he want's to play with what's on the outside.
There is also fridge doll magnets with different outfits for girls to put on the dolls.
Good luck

Our 2-yr-old boy does the same thing. The belt stayed on but he can open it, so it didn't matter. When I'm not home (hubbys can be so useless sometimes), I put a bicycle chain all the way around the fride and lock it (thread it under the handle if possible). We have to do it with the freezer too. Our son can get into anything! He can scale a wall like spiderman and has broken into every baby-proofing device made, we have had to resort to metal locks and key locks on doors. He can even light matches and lighters (you don't even want to know how we found that out)! Honestly, it's worth your deposit to keep the kiddies safe, ifyou have to go permanent, do it. Best wishes.

Can you block her access to the kitchen with a baby gate? If not, I'd say you need to work on changing the behavior instead of preventing it. In a stern voice, tell her, "No. Stay out of the refrigerator" every time she heads for it. She's two years old so she can follow simple instructions by now. My daughter is 25 months old and we used to have the same problem. But after only a few days of telling her no, she knows not to go in the fridge anymore unless I ask her to get something out for me. And it's actually been quite nice to have an eager little helper who is willing to get out the ingredients while I'm cooking. Good luck!

shouting on your kids is not a good idea. these kids are just begining to explore. let them be but be cautious. always look after them. The best way to keep them out of the fridge is to put a toddler gate on your kitchen. Also try to communicate with them. they also listen to what you are saying just be more patient. There is no need to scream, they are not dogs.

lay a chair down and place in front of it, just in case make sure no glass bottles are in front. plus use a drill and put a hing fastner on door.
