Last time I checked, which was approximately three seconds ago, Christians all agree that if you believe in God, Believe in Jesus and try to follow Christ's example, then you're a Christian. Catholics do all this and get accused of paganism and idolatry--isn't that nice? Let's all us Christians just keep attacking each other and show the world what loving and accepting people we are--Do you honestly expect them to listen to our words and completely ignore our deeds?

You are on the mark. Although I am not Catholic, I think there are many Protestants who do not understand some of the aspects of the Catholic faith. Myself included. But my lack of understanding does not stand in the way of recognizing that the shared core belief in Jesus as Savior, the trinity and the Bible in toto is grounds for all to accept one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.
We are all the body of Christ.

Pastor Billy says: can I get an, Amen brother?

Fact is... Protestantism got it's start attacking Catholicism that is why non-Catholic Christianity is called Protestant or "reform theology" To be Protestant is not necessarily to be pro-Christian as much as it is to be anti-Catholic.

The irony is this... Protestantism is not true unless it is not Catholicism whereas Catholicism is always true without having to be not-Protestant. In other words Catholicism doesn't find truth in having to prove Protestantism wrong as it is orthdoxy and truth is intrinic to it.

addition: One small thing I forgot to add, in a majority of cases Protestantism doesn't really protest Catholicism but a cariacture of it. I just read the answer from someone 2 posts before mine and she seems to think Catholics are not taught correctly on Jesus lol. I have to assume she has been fed the typical misinformation, slander and propaganda that has been circulating amongst Protestants since the Protestant conception some 450 years ago.

addition #2, I find myself having to return here and make additional comments as I read other peoples incomplete answers. Someone has mentioned Foxes book of Martyrs as proof against the goodness of Catholicism lol. The irony on this piece of evidence is... the entire first half of the book only contains stories of Roman Catholic saints who are to this day still venerated by Catholics and not Protestants. The person attempting to use this as evidence is confused about why it was written and when. It was written during Tudor England as propaganda to support the persecution of Catholics at the hands of Protestants upset with the civil reign of Mary Tudor who attempted to return England to it's Catholic roots after the death of her brother Edward. Mary was labelled bloody Mary because of the retribution against certain individuals who had persecuted Mary and her mother Catherine during the time of Edward and her father Henry VIII. What is most interesting is that during the reign of Elizabeth I her half sister more people were murdered and disappeared under Protestant rule. So much for Foxe's book.

Catholics are Christians. A Christian is someone who accept Christ as a Savior. It is the Protestants that are trying to segregate the Catholics from the Christians into another religion.

Jesus said if you love me , you will obey my commands. The Catholic church has been and is leading people away from the commands of Jesus, the way Jesus lived and what He taught and into bondage to their own rules and statutes which are unscriptural. I was raised in the Catholic church and am well aware of what they believe and what burdens and judgements people in the church were subjected to. I am not bashing any person- I am just telling the truth about what the church teaches. If people read their Bible they would not find half of what the Catholic church teaches in it and they would find the other half completely contradicted. I beleive there are many Catholics that truly desire truth and want to honor God and follow the example of Jesus- the problem is the example they are being given is not what Jesus lived or taught. What the Catholic church teaches is not the Gospel, and it is not only the Catholic church so I am not singling anyone out- most Christians that bash the Catholic church do not even realize or admit that most of the traditions and observances and ways they are taught came right out of or are very similar to the Catholic church. Most churches teach good advice and traditions and expectations of men rather than the Gospel.
I am not bashing and I am not judging the heart of any man regardless of what religion He calls himself by, I will however test every teaching against the scriptures and if it does not line up, I will not hold my peace.

Personally i find the fundies more 'at it' than catholics; but then again they should all live by what 1 Cor 1:10 has said all along for this great 'misunderstanding' to dissipate.

Fundamental Christians don't like Catholics because they are jealous of their large numbers. I've been to alot of different churches and I can't recall one time that I went to a born again christian church and didn't here a little dig against the catholics. It's all about insecurity, if you are secure in your own faith there is no need to put other religions down

I also find it ironic even though I'm not Catholic. It seems all of the Christians forget that ALL of the Protestant Sects originated from the Roman Church.

It makes perfect sense, Christians bashing Catholics. Just like Sunnis blowing up Shiites. Perfect sense.
