i have been having a hard time keeping up with her hair and she of course does not like to get her hair done at all...you can't relax a kids hair until they are at least 6 years of age ..should i get her hair professionally braided? I did a cholesterol cream and followed by joicos deep kpak reconstructor cuticle sealer and instant hydrator and i used biolage smoothing milk coconut oil and castor oil...when is the next time i should wash her hair again? i pressed it tonight with the hot iron..which looks okay but she has a short stacked haircut so you can see all the layers so it looks choppy...i want my babys hair to grow out and be healthy..what should i do? i was washing her hair everyday cause she is constantly getting food sand mud u name it in her hair.....how can i manage her hair without tears? thanks in advance

Hi there, reading your question details made me chuckle a bit :-) try naturalaxer : http://www.naturalaxer.com/jordansteps.html sounds like you! lol

Don't wash your daughters hair everyday!!! Wash it every 7 days. and gently massage her scalp when you oil her hair everyday/ 2 and you'll see her hair would grow out healthy. Our hair is very fragile and it has to be treated with a lot of TLC. the naturalaxer would smooth out her curls also, try fishing for products on : http://www.mixedchicks.net/

If it gets dirty/sweaty, rinse it out properly and condition it till her next shampoo. Also let her hair air dry as often as you can ... don't use heat if it could be avoided. Also, .. tie her hair up in a bun on the top of her head for bed and it might be worth looking into getting silk pillowcases for her bed 'cos our hair tends to be somewhat fragile,& unrulyingly curly at times, it pulls on cotton pillowcases and dries out when we sleep.

Try these and you should see imrovement in a few weeks. You could get her hair professionally plaited (it usually looks really cute), make sure the stylist does not make it too tight though and also learn how to do it urself. Its easy, I can do it for myself now! Good luck!!!!

Please do not put a relaxer in your daughter's hair, and pressing her hair is no better, because the heat can cause breakage. I don't know how old your daughter is, but I'm assuming she under the age of 6. I would have her hair braided professionally, but make sure the stylist is braiding it too tight. A braided style can last anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks, if it's properly cared for, all you would need to do is keep her scalp moisturized, I suggest with coconut oil, and wrap it with a scarf at night. Wait about one week in between braiding so her hair can "air out". Shampoo and condition her hair, use a detangler, Just for Me has a good one for her hair type. My daughter has a very curly hair texture and this is how I care for her hair, without chemicals. When her hair is not braiding, she might have a ponytail or two. Please don't continue to use so much heat on her hair though, because her hair is not as strong as an adults and can be damaged more easily.

Can you give her spiral curls? I think that would look cute. I think you can use your fingers or a pencil. With the right products of course.
Professional braiding will work but if she is an active child it will look fuzzy on the top and you might have to get it done often until her hair grows.
I bet she's a beauty, good luck!

How about finding a short cut that works w/ her texture - i.e. doesn't need to be pressed?
