It is not important to me at all. Because I learn from all, and I
don't get stuck on any. It is really a good life. Too much to
learn and no time 2 B concern about little things.
Best Regards.

No. If you learn them both, you will see that both help a person to become more spiritual. Sure, one is theistic, and one isn't, but both teach love, and respect for mankind, and both show people ways to become more spiritual. Buddhism teaches meditation.... But Muslims "meditate" (pray) five times a day (or more).
There really are a lot more similarities than differences.
There are some religions, however, that are less likely to produce spiritual people. Some religions teach people to fear people from every other religion, and you can't be spiritual and fearful at the same time. Faith and fear are mutually exclusive. That said, you get crazies in every religion. I remember an article on a Buddhist monk who went around killing people. It's not the religion's fault for that, but the individual's.

We Muslims too much respect Buddha and some of our religious scholars believe that Buddha's name as "Dhal Kifl", is mentioned two times in Holy Qura'n, as a person among patient ones.
The main difference in both religions is Buddhism is believing on different lives within this world, and Islam says there is another world, hereafter, after death.
I think Buddhism as a branch of Hinduism and the Hinduism exists on other side of Islam in the prism of religions.
Hinduism says, "All is HE"
Islam says, "All is HIS"

I'm sure most Muslims are peace-loving - it's just a shame about the small minority of nutters. Anyway, Buddhism isn't entirely devoid of similar problems - look at those guys who gassed the undergorund in Japan a few years ago - they claimed to be Buddhists. And there is an esoteric core to Islam (sufism) which may well have similar principles to Buddhist vipassana meditation.

I'm buddhist, and some of my friends are islamic. Personally I feel our religions are brothers. IN his Koran it states "Desire for your brother that which you desire for yourself", and that Jihad is a holy war within each man to determine whether his selfish side or loving side will win. It's the fanatics that say Jihad is LITERAL warfare. They don't understand, as the Pharisees didn't. We both(my friends and I) have the same goals, same teachings more or less to follow, but only different teaches and cultural customs that have adapted themselves into the religions.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BY THE WAY....Buddhists don't believe in hell, atleast none I know. Our Karma forces us to go thru painful and unpleasant situations, but it is not punishment, only cause and effect, and by no means is it ETERNAL. We believe God has no agenda for wrath.

Well i guess it depends on how you look at it. Both Islam and Buddhism both believe in a heaven and hell. There are many religions that dont believe in either or just a heavenly place.

Nope, they are not on the opposite ends of the spectrum; far apart, for sure but not entirely so different.

Why wud you say that ? Cos Buddhists are considered a peace-loving people?
Well, Islam teaches the same peaceful principles but it has been hijacked by violence, hatred & bigotry.
