Job1-6: Satan challenges God (1:6-2:13).
Marvelously the curtain of invisibility is drawn back so that we can get a view of heavenly things. Jehovah is seen presiding over an assembly of the sons of God. Satan appears among them. Jehovah calls attention to his faithful servant Job, but Satan challenges Job's integrity, charging that Job serves God because of material benefits received. If God will allow Satan to take these away, Job will turn away from his integrity. Jehovah accepts the challenge, w/ the restriction that Satan must not touch Job himself.
No where does this say directly or indirectly that the angels r gods.

38:4-7:Jehovah answers Job (38:1-42:6)
Job had asked God to speak to him. Now Jehovah majestically answers out of the windstorm. He sets before Job a series of questions that are in themselves an object lesson in man's littleness and God's greatness. "Where did you happen to be when I founded the earth?...Who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars joyfully cried out together, and all the sons of God began shouting in applause?" (38:4,6,7) That was long before Job's time! One after another, questions are raised that Job can not answer, as Jehovah points to the earth's sea, its garment of cloud, the dawn, the gates of death, and light and darkness.
"Have you come to know because at that time you were being born, and because in number your days are many?" (38:21) And what about the storeshouses of snow and of hail, the storm and raindrops and the dewdrops, the ice and the hoarfrost, the mighty heavenly constellations, the lightnings and cloud layers, and the beasts and the birds?
Once again, No Mention of the sons of God, being gods.

Ps 82:1-6 Book Three (Psalms73-89)
Psalms 82 and 83 are strong pleas to Jehovah to execute his judgements against his enemies and the enemies of his ppl. Far from being vindictive, these petitions are to the end
" that ppl may search for your name, O Jehovah...,[and] that ppl may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, are the Most High over all the earth." (83:16,18)
Once again, No mention of the sons of God, being gods.

Granted, in Scripture; heavenly things/ spirit persons, even those in positions of authority here on earth are referred to as having a heavenly place. Being a god/godly.
NoWhere, but, NO Where in the Holy Scriptures r the sons of God (angels) called God. Satan was a son of God. Satan wanted it; to be like God, and look what happened there.
You have to take the context into consideration...i.e. Israel; the country or the man? Do more research. Cross references and the like. Use more then 1 Bible. Ask (pray) for God to show u the meaning. Show you what the answer is to ur Q / or where its @, @ least. Go to ur public library, and Crack open some more books.

The "sons of God" was a techinical name men gave to angels. Because the angels had qualities similar to God. It was one of the ways men at that time describe angels. But angels are not God. Read Hebrews Chapter 1, it says He makes His angels ministers of flames. As for Psalms 82:1-6, the term "god" there is in reference to those who held magistrate positions among God's people. People who were judges among the Israelites. If you study that word out in the Hebrew, you will find it means "magistrates". Even when Jesus talked to the Pharisees, He said, is it not written that you are gods? Then what about the one that He set apart for himself........And on and on.

It's obvious you don't understand the Bible.

Psalm 82 is about "unjust gods". These are the gods that we made ourselves when we sin against the first commandment. "There are no other gods besides Me". This Psalm is God telling us that idols, false gods, images that we worship do not know nor understand, they wander about in darkness and all the world's foundations shake (verse 5). In verses 6-8,"Gods though you be, offspring of the Most High all of you, [Jesus is talking to people that consider themselves above God] yet like any mortal you shall die; like any prince you shall fall [Jesus is telling these people that just becuz they declare themselves to be gods doesn't mean they are really gods; that they are mere mortals and will die like everyone else]. Arise, O GOd, judge the earth, for Yours are all the nations." [Here Jesus is talking to His Father, the one and only true God]

In the Job references you gave, these 'sons' of God are angels, not mankind.

What BIble do you read? Does it have footnotes? Do you use a Concordance? You need a better Bible with these resources.

Job 1:6 Now it came 2 b the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and even Satan proceeded to enter right among them.
angels=gods...Nope. No siree bob.
Satan enters before God

Job 2:1 Afterward it came 2 b the day when the sons of the [true ] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and Satan also proceeded to enter right among them to take his station before Jehovah.
ahh, and again; No mention of sons of God, being gods.
Satan enters before God

Job 38:4-7 4) After it a sound roars; He thunders w/ the sound of his superiority, And he does not hold them back when his voice is heard.5 God thunders w/ his voice in a wonderful way, Doing great things that we cannot know.6For to the snow he says, 'Fall earthward,' And [to] the downpour of rain, even [to] the downpour of his strong rains.7 On the hand of every earthling man he puts a seal for every mortal man to know his work.
and again, No mention of angels=gods
God spoke/ shows Job ignorance of forces

Ps 82:1-6
Ahh o.k. I see what u r looking @. They r called gods,
NOT GODS, or God. Because they have a heavenly position. A position above others, they r in heaven. But He doesn't call them God/Gods; just gods. Sometimes u really have to 'get' the sense of what is being said / done.
Also, look @ the syntax. This is Very Important.
others called gods

Good 1....

Dear Moises 37,

Angels are messengers of God. Psalm 82:6 uses the Hebrew word elohim (judges, literally mighty ones of God). Angels have always been known as messengers of God and in this context the point was being made that they often deliver messages of warning and judgement.

The Bible is very clear that there is are not "mini gods."

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

God, god, lord are titles....those that denote power and authority...

Satan is also called 'god of this system of things' (1 cor. 4:4) as he has power over the governments.

Angels are sons of God coz he created them, so are we, so is Jesus, God's son, the firstborn. Angels=messenger....

Psalm 82:1-6 In this psalm the Most High God speaks to the unjust judges on earth, mere men, and calls them “gods,” or elohím in the Hebrew, and he tells them to correct their legal practice. Because those judges fail of their duty, it becomes necessary for the Most High God to arise and judge the peoples of the earth.

I think this is interesting and I think it's interesting how this question gets written off. The Psalm says
"1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the apersons of the wicked? Selah.
3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are achildren of the most High.

God is a title. Like Sir, Mr., Miss, Mrs. But there is no God but one. According to the Bible (1 Corinthians 8:4-7) "For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him, and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and we through him.

Angels are not Gods they are messengers. They serve us, we do not serve them.

Psalms 34:7, "The angel of God is camping all around those fearing him and he rescues them.

Biblically speaking, gods are to be worshipped, angels are not to be worshipped. On the same note, even Jesus referred to some men as 'gods'.

No, they're not. Angels praise and worship God but they are not equal to God by no means.
