I either have an ongoing infection that just won't go away, or else I am getting an infection every couple weeks. I feel like I have the flu.

Can a liver problem cause this? My liver enzymes are high. My iron is low. White blood cells are high.

Your INFECTION may be a long term malfunctioning of liver and so infection coming and going type. It may be due to various factors. I think it has not been fully treated and hence the recurrence. Apart from taking medicines for increasing your Iron and for increase of white blood cells Your doctor should evaluate the actual reason for the recurrence.

Do you get Auyrvedic medicines in your place. A wonder tablet (Also available in the form of syrup for giving to Children) called 'LIV-52' will cure all the liver problems if you take 2+2 = 4 tablets daily for 2 months. It is manufactured by different brands and one famous one in India is Himalaya and DABUR. You should get it at your place. You can also but it online. Please go through the following weblinks and have them.

You can take it without even consulting your doctor as it will not have any contradiction with other medicines and treatments.

Did you have Hepatitis B or C anytime. There may be mild attack of this and went unnoticed. You may aks your doctor to have it checked up for this. Best of Luck and wish you speedy recover.-

It appears that you have already been to the
doctors since you know what your blood work
shows. There are two types of tests. One
shows the enzymes of the liver and the other
shows how the liver functions. You mention
the enzymes. The enzymes of the liver are
the ALT and AST. If the Alt level is very high,
it is a good indicator that the problem is in the
liver. The AST level deals with other organs and
not just the liver, so it is used but not as a specific indicator of the liver problem.
The liver "function" tests tell you if the liver is able to do the job it once did or it is having problems. They are usually the bilirubin, albumin, alka phos, and others.

Considering you are having an ongoing problem
with the liver enzymes and continual flu like
symptoms...I am giving you this link to read.
You will notice on here that when there is
inflammation of the liver cells, known as
Hepatitis, you could have flu like symptoms
of fever, general ill feeling, vomiting, nausea,
and loss of appetite and diarrhea and you
could also have yellowing of the skin and
whites of the eyes.
http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/hepatitis.html

Not all people will have all these symptoms and
not all people will have any of these symptoms
even though they have Hepatitis.
I also have to say that these enzymes can be
high in many other conditions a person might have. I am only giving you the liver aspect of
all this since you asked.

If the liver cells do have inflammation,
medication can be taken to help heal the liver.
However, it must be caught early and medication
taken before it can start to destroy the cells
and lead to a condition known as 'cirrhosis'
which is the death of the liver cells.

I would keep all your doctor appointments until
they know definitely what is causing your problem considering the conditions you have
described here.

Hope you start to feel better and I hope this
information is of some help.

Sounds like a simple urine infection. It can get pretty nasty if left alone. Cystitis starts as a dull feeling as you finish weeing, then can turn into a slight burning at the even, then develops into a need to visit the toilet more often and burning and uncomfortable all the time. When it gets to its worst you will start to see a small amount of blood when you wee. You can use an over the counter drink or tablets, or try drinking cranberry juice as a cheaper natural alternative. If in doubt visit the doctor. But i wouldn't worry about it being a yeast infection. Make sure when you have sex with your partner to be clean. If you use any toys make sure you clean them afterwards with a specific product. Using soap can leave oil on them which will cause a similar infection.

Having low gamaglobulin can cause frequent infections, as well as having a low immune system. This would be a good time to have a free HIV test for yourself. If your liver is not behaving its best, try taking the tablets called milk thistle to help your liver be at its best. You may buy these over the counter at most drug stores, for little money.

This is not a medical mainstream diagnosis, but Candida Yeast overgrowth can certainly promote infections, break down the body's immune system and make you feel like you have the flu.

I had it for 12 years; actually 6 years to realize what I had, 4 years of trying to eliminate it on my own--which costs tons of money and did not work. And two years recovered.

I finally found a Naturopath in Idaho who cured me. What a blessing. To get more information on the naturopath, using Yahoo Search type in Karen Tripp and Candida ==she provides her symptoms, the doctors' name and contact info.--I added the link under sources.

You may not have the Candida problem, but my M.D. told me it did not exist and was upset I even brought it up!!

Good luck!

Try using some essential oils on your feet and chest and breath it in . I use Rosemary oil for any cold, or lung problem including Bronchitis or Pneumonia. Use Ravensara for flue, allergies lung and more. Use Geranium for kidney or bladder inf. Also Juniper kills all kinds of diseases. Skin infections Rosewood. Google young living.co They have info on essential oils. The cause of all disease and infection is having a material body and being in the material world. Though we can try to counteract some diseases The main disease is we think we are this body and mind. That is the biggest one to cure The maha mantra is the most recommended remedy. I can give a direct site for that if you want it.

Your instincts are intact but your labs are what concern me. I wish I had the precise values to look at. Be aggressive about having your doctor rule out liver involvement.

you could be a poor handwasher. since handwashing is the best way to prevent any infection, you may be introducing infections into your own body. this will cause a weakened immune response which increases your chances of contracting more infections.

Sounds like you're sickly & have a "systemic" infection (something that's perpetuating itself). Go to a Doctor to be checked out & maybe get some antibiotics. You're only going to get weaker- until you do...

If I were you, having this knowledge, I'd tell my doctor to make sure it is not an onset something else more complicated... like anemia or leukemia....

Take care and be well.
