Lemons can be highly acidic, as a couple of people above me said, and so they should be used in the right proportions. Do not use raw lemon juice, because this will sting your skin.
Avoid lemons that have paler skin as they tend to be more acidic. Lemons with green patches may also be more acidic.
But lemons, when mixed with honey /rose water/ curd are excellent for your skin and can also help in bleaching.
You can mix one teaspoon of honey with two teaspoons of lemon juice and apply it daily, washing it off after 20 minutes.
After that, apply a mixture of half a teaspoon honey, the yolk of on egg, and one tablespoon milk powder. This will moisturize your skin.
For many many more ways of cleansing and moisturising your skin at home, just google...
And remember...lemons aren't bad for your skin :D

lemon is a citrus which makes it fairly acidic. if you would like a cleanser, i would recommend looking for online recipes and trying them out to figure out which one works the best on your skin. you can also try talking to an esthetician while getting a facial about natural products you can use. as for a moisturizer, purchase a moisturizing toner, witch hazel with rose or ingredients like those are great in a toner and leave you smelling nice and fresh.

lemon is usually used as an toner on the skin to close the pores after cleansing and before moisturizing. lemon has excellent anitoxidant properties which mean it slows or prevents free radicals from forming. free radicals are highly unstable molecules that if a build up occurs can accelerate the aging process as it contributes to skin wrinkling.

lemon does the opposite of moisturizing. it will dehydrate your skin and probably kill some skin cells since it's so harsh. Get a really great moisturizer with spf in it not lemon.

I don't think lemon is the best answer to face cleansing. It is quite acidic and might actually HARM your skin.
