Feel free to drop me an email privately and I'd be happy to coach you a bit -- As for the mean spirited remarks I figure you can value them like all opinions - meaning that they are worth exactly what you pay for them... They are understandable to some degree I suppose, being mostly an expression of peoples' emotional responses to their own mortality and nameless fears. Some people are just scared silly I guess, but we -all- have to face death sooner or later... - no one gets out of here alive. LOL

there are various perceptions as to what Wiccans and witchraft is rather approximately, and an equivalent quantity of misconceptions. some Wiccans evaluate themselves as witches, some do no longer, and that's greater of a private determination. every physique can draw a pentagram yet that does no longer advise that they're a witch or Wiccan. it somewhat is like me drawing a sword or gun and human beings thinking that i'm a mass assassin. If persons are too ignorant to quickly assume in line with stereotypes, particularly of doing the examine themselves and looking out out the "actual" meanings of issues, then it shows no longer something for coaching or self-coaching. and because Wiccans are linked with witches, and vice versa, this additionally supplies upward push to so plenty greater concern approximately them than is needed. the two Wicca and witchcraft have deeper roots in organic healing, herbology and earth worship.

I agree with Lab Girl & Prairie find a knowledgeable teacher, so at the very least you have someone to bounce ideas off of. There are several ways to do this, ask at your local herb or curious goods shop if there are any classes or book clubs, you could try the networking pages on witchvox http://www.witchvox.com/xvn.html
or witches meetup, or your even local yahoo pagan groups. In the meantime I suggest getting a notebook, a booklight (one that clips on to a book for reading at night) and something to write with, keep these clipped together by your bedside so that you can journal your dreams. I have found, for me, that when the dead wish to communicate something to the living they often do it through dreams and meditations. Write down any details that you remember as soon as you awaken. Best of luck to you.

I agree with Lela and Toopregnant -- the Honored Dead who may want to contact us are just waiting for us to, as Toopregnant so beautifully puts it, "Shut up and Listen!" Dreams are a perfect medium through which the Ancestors (a word I prefer to "dead") may contact us, since we are between the worlds when we are asleep. My grandmother has contacted me through dreams in the past. While it is theoretically possible for a mischievous spirit to pretend to be someone else, this argument is almost always given as a scare tactic to chase you away from anything that isn't Fundamentalist Christianity. Ignore the scare tactics and the spiritual bullies. You will know in your heart that it is her, just trust yourself.

to the answerer's, Where's the love?! To the Questioner, There are realms that we don't understand and they can be very real. There is a battle going on for our minds that we can not see. If you can be convinced of an old deceased friend trying to get a hold of you, then you would become a soldier in the battle. Then you would recruit others with your testimony, and you would be witnessing in all honesty to what you have seen and heard. Truth is that when some one dies, they can not meddle in the affairs of the living. There are those who can meddle, and they some times use a disguise of a loved one or friend. They tell of intimate things to convince you. Who would know that person who is past away better than an invisible spirit, angel, being or what ever. They will be more and more prevalent as times grow shorter.

First of all, ignore the ignorant and the tasteless answers (thanks to those of you who can disagree and still show respect for other people) and then just have a seat somewhere that feels particulary like she's there and talk. Say what you feel, open up like a diary, just say and do whatever comes to mind. If you want a candle, light one, if not, don't bother. Just relax and don't try so hard, the answers to life are not kept from us, they are just waiting for us to shut up and listen.

As a Wiccan for over 20 years, I advocate going out and finding a reputable teacher and getting help from someone who knows.
If you're the only one perceiving this, it may be YOUR unfinished business, not hers.

One possible way is to find another witch in your area that you trust, and then have them take you through a guided meditation where you enter a trance state, journey to a point closer to the realm of the dead, and invite your neighbor to meet you there and talk with you. It's really not something that's possible to do alone -- you need someone to talk you through it and keep an eye on you -- although I suppose you could tape-record yourself speaking the meditation, to send you down into trance and bring yourself back up.
I'd be willing to brainstorm with you on this; feel free to email or IM me if you like.

Trust your instincts, chances are she has something to pass on to you. I've found the best starting place is to openly acknowledge their presence and make them (although they are already) aware of yours. This establishes a connection. After this it is up to you to keep an open mind and decide what is them and what's just in your head.
I've had some very enlightening conversations with my late Grand-father.

I'm with sugar Booger (or whatever their name was).
I completely disagree with your beliefs, but some of these answers are nasty... I hope those reading them don't think that they are good examples of Christians (or whatever religion they claim to be). While I may believe your views are very wrong, I wouldn't want to just state hateful/nasty statements. Those that do need to learn about compassion and tolerance. Also how to point out how to disagree with a view without making themselves look like an idiot.
