Only if the guns were in the hands of someone proficient in its use, and have the proper frame of mind to terminate Cho on the spot. Legal guns in the hands of the untrained, or scared jack rabbits can cause more harm than good.

I believe the answer is yes, there would have been less people killed if handguns were permitted to be carried.

Virginia allows citizens to carry concealed weapons, but Virginia Tech doesn't allow them on property.

Hope this helps.

Yep.

In two instances, school shooters were stopped before killing themselves or racking up a high body count. In one instance, the Assistant Principal retrieved a gun from his car and stopped the shooter as he was trying to drive away. Then a couple of years ago in Grundy, VA, two students armed with personal handguns captured a shooter.

I am of the opinion that any law or rule that prevents a person from having the ability to defend themselves from lethal attacks are not only illogical, but illegal, and Unconstitutional.

Maybe, maybe not. No way to tell, really. Perhaps we would have more shootings on college campuses if students are walking around with guns. I remember being 18-22, and I wasn't the most patient or logical person...although being an adult I had a lot to learn (still do).

Honestly, it could have went either way. But chances are someone would have killed him before he killed so many.

Probably.

An armed adult would have had PLENTY of opportunities to take Cho Seung-Hui out, since it took many minutes, and Cho had to reload multiple times.

Probably not. Because of the population of students, one would assume the students would be the ones with guns...and unless they've gone through extensive training, it's my belief that cool heads would not have prevailed. I think more people would have been killed, just by virtue of being in the line of fire.

he might have been killed quicker but how many other crazies would have used weapons prior to this ? say 10 crazies shoot 2 or more students each in the past 5 years - impossible to know.
