Would like to invest in new body Canon 30D and main photography shots:
1. Landscape (travel)
2. Potraits
Still prefer to use AF Nikkor lens with my new Canon EOS 30D body.

Addition Questions:
- How much does an adapter cost to fit the nikkor lens with the Canon 30D?
- What kind of lens is suitable for the above types of photography?

With a 30D you'll need a new lens.
* with a Nikon to Canon adapter, you won't have autofocus.
* you won't have metering, either.
* a 28-80mm lens on a Canon 30D effectively becomes 45-128mm due to the 30D's 1.6 focal length multiplier. 45-128mm is not suitable for landscapes.
For this last reason, I wouldn't recommend using that lens on a Nikon dSLR either. The lens would work perfectly, but Nikon bodies have a 1.5 focal length multiplier.
For the 30D, I'd probably get the Canon 17-85mm zoom. This lens sells for $510 seperately - less as a kit with the 30D.

Both the D60 and the 450D are good choices. The more expensive DSLR's have better noise control at higher ISO, but really your ability to shoot in low light conditions as well as take macro shots will depend on the lens. When you get a DSLR, you will probably be happy with the kit lens for a while, but if you have specific needs (low light or macro), you may expect to spend more money on your lens collection than the camera body itself.

Nikon lenses cannot be used on Canon camera bodies without an adapter - and then only with lower functionality, such as without autofocus.
