I think the fire, heat, burning, etc is more symbolic of the horrocity of hell, are conscience burning of guilt within us if we are to stand naked before a pure and just God with a perfect knowledge or our sin and wickedness. Remember, when Christ comes in glory, His glory will melt the elements and wickedness will be burnt to stubble. I take that literally. Also, the Spirit of God is like a fire. A fire cleanses, sterilizes. Hope that helps!

Heat also disspates the further away you get from the source.

Christ wants to get us as far away from hell as possible.

"Heat" doesn't rise. Hot air does though. That's why Rosie is so loud.
