Many people think that God tortures because it helps us learn a lesson and we can grow from it. But, if you read Revelation, "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever," (20:10) then you will see that there is no lessen to be learned here. Why does God torture? Why not just wipe these creations out?

PS: I don't care whether or not you are religious. If you are religious that fine. If you are not religious then look at this question based purely on the Bible as literature.

The fact that God created Hell for Satan and the angels that fell with him and will send other souls there who rejected His Son does not mean that God actively tortures anyone. You're confusing torture with adversity. No, in Hell there's no more lessons to be learned. Hell is THE place of punishment that God created. When His poeple undergo trials, tribulations and adversity, it is ALWAYS for their own good, and He gives us His promise that it will all work together for our good if we love Him.

People of various religions have gone to their religious leaders and teachers to ask why there is so much suffering. Often, the response is that suffering is God’s will and that he long ago determined everything that would ever happen, including tragic events. Many are told that God’s ways are mysterious or that he brings death upon people—even children—so that he can have them in heaven with him. As you have learned, though, Jehovah God never causes what is bad. The Bible says: “Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!”—Job 34:10. Do you know why people make the mistake of blaming God for all the suffering in the world? In many cases, they blame Almighty God because they think that he is the real ruler of this world. They do not know a simple but important truth that the Bible teaches The Bible clearly states: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1 John 5:19) When you think about it, does that not make sense? This world reflects the personality of the invisible spirit creature who is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Satan is hateful, deceptive, and cruel. So the world, under his influence, is full of hatred, deceit, and cruelty. That is one reason why there is so much suffering. It is comforting for us to know that God does not cause suffering. He is not responsible for the wars, the crimes, the oppression, or even the natural disasters that cause people to suffer. Still, we need to know, Why does Jehovah allow all this suffering? If he is the Almighty, he has the power to stop it. Why, then, does he hold back? The loving God that we have come to know must have a good reason.—1 John 4:8.Adam and Eve rebelled against Jehovah. In effect, they said: “We do not need Jehovah as our Ruler. We can decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong.” How could Jehovah settle that issue? How could he teach all intelligent creatures that the rebels were wrong and that his way truly is best? Someone might say that God should simply have destroyed the rebels and made a fresh start. But Jehovah had stated his purpose to fill the earth with the offspring of Adam and Eve, and he wanted them to live in an earthly paradise. (Genesis 1:28) Jehovah always fulfills his purposes. (Isaiah 55:10, 11) Besides that, getting rid of the rebels in Eden would not have answered the question that had been raised regarding Jehovah’s right to rule.

Because life is a test ... and if your not challenged enough you havent learned anything .... If God was to just wipe creations out .. then there wouldnt be any examples of what happens to the non-believer .. it's a struggle ... life is a struggle .... The devil deceived .. went against ... God .. and therefore was cast into the lake of fire and brimestone ... there is a pretty good lesson to be learnt in those words .... how do you deceive someone? ... ask yourself tht ... and then there are consequences ..

the omnipotent divine creator does not torture. Life is suffering, and if you want the torture of your suffering to end, you must end all desire. The only way not to suffer is to simply accept and be content with everything that comes whether it falls into your definition of "bad" or "good". Every pain you experience while you are alive is self-inflicted. Christians are sadistic because they, historically speaking, have tortured there brethren simply because they chose to believe another answer to the unanswerable question. And Christians are masochists because they feel that every test that they face is another way that God is torturing them. Here is my answer for you: If you want your suffering to end, then be a buddha. As for me, I would not want to trade any of the heart wrenching sorrows that I have experienced if it meant that the explosive and infinite joys I have felt were to be taken from me as well. And if there is not hurt to compare it to, then there can be no joy. But I dont want to be a buddha because I want to ride this ride again!

I think something being "wiped out" is not possible and goes against both scientific law and a spiritual law. Spirit is spirit and can't be done away with. There are laws that God has created and He does not go against His laws. The false prophets being tormented forever and ever I belive describes the vastness and neverendingness of hell. Will God allow people to experience that for all eternity...hell is endless suffering but it may not be a suffering without end. Something to ponder.

Because God is not real, it is mankind that is cruel, and all bibles (religious books) were written by man, the true meanings of these books have been lost. The essence of these books was to learn ethics, morals and kindness, love and peace - all this has been forgotten by men who want power, wealth and a culture of greed and fear!

He does. People take that text and havemade a doctrine that hell is people burning forever in the lake of fire..making those burning as being immortal then...even though they are suffering.
However, they refuse to look at all the other incidents in the bible such as sodom and gomorrah which says that it will burn forever and ever..but it is not burning now is it.
In revelation it even says that satan will be ashes under our feet..there are so many texts which claim the wicked will be dead..no longer exist etc etc..forever means for however long we live..until everything is burned up.
Yes, the wicked get thrown into the fire..some may burn longer than others..and they will scream day and night till they die....
Since this will be the new earth..and the bible states that God destroys everything and every wicked person..and then he makes this earth all over again..brand new..and since the lake of fire is on this earth...then it would not be "heaven' with a lake full of immortal buring people now would it.

Psalm 37:20, NIV. "But the wicked will perish: The Lord's enemies will be like the beauty of the fields, they will vanish—vanish like smoke."

Malachi 4:1, NIV. "Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire, says the Lord Almighty. Not a root or a branch will be left to them."

Matthew 25:46, NIV. "Then they will go away to everlasting punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
(NOTE THE WORD PUNISHMENT WHICH HAS AN END..GOD DID NOT SAY PUNISHING..WHICH MEANS CONTINUOUS).

Jude 7, NIV. "In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire."

The fire will be unquenchable, but when there is nothing left to burn it will go out. Examples of the word unquenchable:
Matthew 3:12, NIV. "His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will clear His threshing floor, gathering the wheat into His barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire." Jeremiah 17:27, NIV says, "But if you do not obey Me to keep the Sabbath day holy by not carrying any load as you come through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle an unquenchable fire in the gates of Jerusalem that will consume her fortresses."

The entire earth will be cleansed by fire:
II Peter 3:10, RSV. "And then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up."

Revelation 20:15, NIV. "If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."

Revelation 20:9, NIV. "But fire came down from heaven and devoured them."

God does not torture. That the fallen angles are tormented is not an act of torment done by God to them. It is the torment they endure being deprived of the existence in the presence of their Creator and the loss of the grace they derived from Him. So the torment they endure is self inflicted, the despair and gnashing of teeth so to speak for paradise lost. Think of someone you care for in this life more than any other. Now imagine losing them either physically through death or emotionally through separation. Now imagine that sense of loss multiplied a thousand fold. You are almost there.
