No,I feel that the Goverment should make them American Citizens,if they have been here that long. The illegal imegrant didn't hurt anyone or thing by being her for 20 years so why should they be punished for it.This country is about Freedom and makeing a better life.I guess everyone forgot about that. Now its about over powering people that have less than you or who is superior than the other.I can understand a little of this because my mom is from Germany and only 4 years ago she became an American Citizen,I would hate for something for that to happen to her, which I know that it doesn't compare to spanish people cause they have it alot harder in there country.Hope everything works out.

Just because they have have not been caught doing anything does not make someone a good citizen.
Things to consider...
Do they / have they paid taxes? A good number of folks are working for cash. Would they be willing to pay what they owe for twenty years? Some illegals actually do pay taxes, but are unable to recover any refund due to a lack of a Social Security number.
Have they burdened the government by using or abusing programs intended for lawful citizens?

Yes, just to be fair to all illegal aliens. All of them should be deported and their children. We have been taken advantage of for too long, after the last and final amnesty in 1986.

No their illegal conduct should be rewarded with citizenship so as to encourage other illegals. And it would be a nice slap in the face of all those stupid people that came over here to live by doing the right thing.

Illegal behavior should not be rewarded no matter how often the criminal does the act.

If a drug dealer gets away with selling drugs every day for 20 years, should he be allowed to continue to sell drugs?

No.

listen to all of you, you make me sick!!!!!!!

how many of you are irish? come on, pretty much everyone here has a drop o' good ole irish blood in 'im! well guess what? most of them came over, that's right ILLIGALLY! people gave them the evil eye for years, they were shunned from jobs, etc, etc... they have risen up now, and are an integral part of society. now, saying you're part irish is pretty much saying you're american!

oh, you came over on the mayflower, huh? well, where were their passports? what about those native americans they "put out of buisness"??? the ones they forced off their own land?

we are living in a global world, one without borders. we have been living this way for years. think about all of the factories we have in other countries in order to escape taxes and have cheaper labor. after the cold war, borders started disappearing, why put up another berlin wall??? what good did the first one do? what good will this one do? and i'm not asking how many aliens it will keep out, i'm asking WILL IT DO ANY GOOD?

if you honestly think that people living here for 20 years or more, illigally should be deported, then you don't know what it means to be american. If you honestly think that, then go knock on the door of my poor great-aunt of 85 years, who would probably die on her way down, and cart her off to mexico.

a lot of people on this site say they welcome legal immigrants. to those people, do you know how hard it is to get the papers and forms to come across the border legally? do you know how difficult the US makes it to legally enter America? if you knew how hard it is, you would understand, just a bit, why so many law-abiding citizens see crossing illigally as their only option. if you lived their life in Mexico, you would know why they want to leave.

In 1986 we gave amnesty to over 3 million people. So that was over 20 years ago, now you want to grant between 12- 20 new illegals ( new because they came after the last amnesty) amnesty. Using these numbers does that mean in the year 2027 we will be granting another amnesty to between 25 and 50 million more. So how many is enough for you. The answer to your question is N0 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Illegal is illegal. Send them back. Let them apply to come in legally. If they have kids, speed up the process for them.

If a fellow gets busted with a bag of weed, and does time for it, he is stigmatized forever. Even after he does the time, gets out, does probation. He is punished forever. A person crossing the border illegally has broken our laws, just like the pot toter. No difference. The law is the law.
