I was at work today and I was sooo tired. I had a customer from El Salvador and we were talking. I told her that I was really tired. So she started to rub her hands to there and said something like she was holding an imaginary ball then put her hands over my face. Wow I could feel her energy. I really couldn't communicate with her to well because I don't speak spanish very well but, I am now wondering about this technique. Any input?

Reiki is type of what is called "energy work", of which there are various kinds.

Some believe it works, and some do not. Those with open minds are more likely to have it work for them.

Some might call it a placebo effect, but my opinion is that if a placebo works, use it.

Personally, I believe in Reiki, as well as other forms of energy work. It's worked for me in the past, and with experienced practitioners, the results can be amazing.

Though it's a purely subjective examination of the subject, I've noticed that different practitioners seem to have different abilities, and that what I feel from one practitioner seems quite different from another. Perhaps it's just my faith in the particular individual, but that different energy seems to indicate something peculiar to the individual practitioners. Perhaps some day there will be a way to quantify the energy in a more scientific manner.

It is wonderful and does work for most people if you allow it to...I had an herbologist and he used Reike on me and let me tell you I wish I wasn't without now.... And I can't seem to find anyone where I live now that uses the method...

It rearranges the positive and negative energies that are in your body! acupressure and meditation all go good together for a healthier stronger mind and body experience! But it's not something you can only do once because your body can't maintain a balance when stress, food and elements are the key factors that throw ot off balance.....

From teachings, I've heard that Reiki was a secret tradition from the Tibetan Buddhist monks. BUt in the 1920's a Japanese guy was reading scripture and "rediscovered" it, and made a business out of it. Sad really. This jerk came and stole a secret practice to make a business out of it... Here is the issue with that, it works, but if you heal someone who developed an issue due to something psychological, then essentially your not really helping them with their issue. Example. I develop a skin diseas because of stress that I can't deal with a specific personal issue, you heal me... I developed this issue as a warning sign that I have something deeper I need to heal, if you cure me, you are essentially robbing me of the opportunity to heal and grow as a spiritual being. And what's more important flesh or spirit? It works, but you must know WHEN to use it. THat is why shamans still guard the secret. I am studying medicine, but the whole reason I started was to someday learn and practice with shamans and monks, and learn to heal WHOLELY. My grandma is a 3rd level REiki master, but she is one of the saddest people I know, and she still hasn't learned when to use it.

Reiki is a technique of healing by laying hands down on the person. I have been searching in the Internet about it.

Peace!

I've never had it done, though the local Spa has the option to have it done. I've considered it, though.
