I current resided in Conecticut. My friend and I wants to relocate to New York by September.

We are looking for a neighborhood like Westchester with a low crime rate and it must be affordable. We would like your recommendation on the best neighborhood.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Harvard and would like to get my feet in the down of international relation organization. Any suggestion which company I should look into? All your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You should first try the United Nations on First Avenue, then from there the Red Cross on the east side, and there are plenty of others since NYC is a global hub. To live try Dobbs Ferry and Tarrytown. If that's too expensive there are some good parts of Yonkers.

The commute from Westchester Co. wouldn't really be that bad so it may be worth looking for a place up there. Metro-North runs into Manhattan and some subway lines do run pretty far north in the Bronx, almost to Westchester Co. anyway. Westchester is super expensive if you are looking to buy a place but you may find that the rents are lower than any 'nice' or 'safe' place in the city. I honestly cannot think of any place which is similar to Westchester other than Westchester itself...

Westchester is NOT cheap. Besides, you probably have the same commute to NYC that you would from Connecticut (are you sure you are from there since you didn't spell it correctly)

I would bet that Weshchester has a HIGHER crime rate than Manhattan (below 86th st). There are probably 10X more people in manhattan, so it just seems dangerous (1 out of a 1,000,000 in murder is a lot less than 1 out ot 100,000)

You have to be care living in New York city is fill with a lot of crime. Westchester country is very nice with a low crime. It is most affordable than the city but you will have a longer commute.
