It is not the translators' fault but men who read it and preachers who interpret it wrong? But aren't the translators' men too? Why do you think the translators are not wrong, since they are men?

i agree there are how many different translations of the bible.....you can't me with as many times as it has been translated that there has never been a mistake......look in history the church didn't want its members to read it for themseleves......so could they have not put their interpretation in it so the members would agree with them?

Translation is an art, not a science. Artists are influenced by many things and most patrons of the arts believe this is as it should be. Scientists have a reputation for being as near totally objective as is possible and that is what is expected of them.

A translator renders a readable document. A scientist dumps raw bloody facts in the lap. Both upset a different group of people. People's preferences result in different interpretations.

No, it is not the translator's fault for different interpretations....it is the teacher who actually has the different interpretations. You and I could read the same story and have entirely different views of it. It is the same with preachers and religious leaders throughout the world. The words do not change...only the perception of the reader does.

The translators are not the problem. The difficulty is that the bible has hundreds of factual errors, as well as dozens of internal contradictions, so interpretation is necessary -- and cannot be expected to be consistent among different interpreters.

Even the devil quoted scripture.

. In the absence of the Apostles, by what means will the secret messages of the Gospel are revealed? Eph 3:9-10 It is through God's church (which has apostolic succession) that the messages of the Gospel is revealed: and of making all people see how God’s secret plan is to be put into effect. God, who is the Creator of all things, kept his secret hidden through all the past ages, in order that at the present time, by means of the church, that angelic rulers and powers in the heavenly world might learn of his wisdom in all its different forms.

For 1500 years there was only the Catholic Church. Why have the latest generations broken down Christianity? In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 the Bible speaks about the coming of “The Wicked One” or the Anti-Christ. It refers that “deceit” will be used as his source of power and says:
3 Do not let anyone deceive you in any way.... 9 The Wicked One will come with the power of Satan 10 and use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved. 11 And so God sends the power of error to work in them so that they believe what is false. (Emphasis added) 12 The result is that all who have not believed the truth, but have taken pleasure in sin, will be condemned. (St. Jerome Catholic Study Bible)

So error (erroneous ideas) is what leads anyone and even whole societies into doing things they should or should not do. If Satan can not subdue a persons will into disobeying God, he resorts to trying to deceive a person into believing something that is false. Even Jesus Christ was tempted by Satan quoting scripture, but Jesus saw through Satan’s deceitful fallacies. How many times then has Satan used scripture to deceive others?

In Matthew 16,Jesus said"I will build my church",not churches. Amos3:3 says "can two walk together lest they be agreed"? It is very hard to know what is correct when you consider all the churches and other beliefs. After I began really studying the Bible,I started looking for the church that was closest to the Bible. I couldn't find that church. I have come to believe that we aren't meant to know all the details. I believe in the central truths;God is the word,He came in physical form,Jesus in order to die for our sins. God is not a hateful God just waiting for us to mess up so He can fling us into eternal torment. The word says it is His desire that none should perish but that all sholud have everlasting life.I think we should concentrate on developing a personal relationship with Him and allow Him through the Holy Spirit to guide us to the truth. We need to stop judging each other and discuss our differences in love.God bless you dear in your search for the truth.

No it is people trying to interpret the bible on their own without the guidance from the Holy Spirit.

It began with the original 'whisperings', then with the original writings, then with the translations, and continues with the interpretations, THEY are all to blame!

it's mans fault and each of their own interpretations ..how many do you think were actually meant to be leaders? I bet that there's more than a handful that would be asked to sit down and shut up!

No, it's people wanting to read different things into it.

Some of the interpretations people come up with are really quite strange. They use the book to back up what they WANT to believe.
