I personally don't fear death mainly b/c of two scriptures. The first being at Ecclesiastes 9:5 which helps of the appreciate that the "dead are conscious of nothing at all". This scripture alone helps us see that the dead aren't roaming about anywhere and also helps to eliminate the fear of being burnt in a Hell Fire forever and ever. The other scripture which is found at John 5:29 gives the hope that we will have the opportunity to live again. It talks about the resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. So with this we know that we will have the prospect of living again, as well as an opportunity to see those that we have lost in death again. And because of those two scriptures it helps me to appreciate that there is no need to fear death.

Like all fears and phobias, fear of death is created by the unconscious mind as a protective mechanism. At some point in your past, there was probably an event linking death or dead things and emotional trauma. Whilst the original catalyst may have been a real-life scare of some kind, the condition can also be triggered by myriad, benign events like movies, TV, or perhaps seeing someone else experience trauma.
But so long as the negative association is powerful enough, the unconscious mind thinks: "This is very dangerous. How do I keep myself from getting in this kind of situation again? I know, I'll attach terrible feelings to death or dead things, that way I'll steer clear in future and so be safe." Just like that a phobia is born. Attaching emotions to situations is one of the primary ways that humans learn. Sometimes we just get the wiring wrong.
The actual phobia manifests itself in different ways. Some sufferers experience it almost all the time, others just in response to direct stimuli. Everyone has their own unique formula for when and how to feel bad.

I don't fear death, although I am might curious about it and what happens afterward. I am a little apprehensive of the manner in which I may die some day (who isn't, dieing can sometimes be in painful circumstances). My personal belief is that I will go to heaven, so I am not really worried about it. I fear the deaths of others, the people I love, because I do not want to have to live without them.

No, i do not fear death. The feeling i have is more that of uncertainty. i do wonder how i will die and when. But the journey into the world unseen after life as we know it ceases will be one i have most looked forward to for many years. i have a strong belief and faith in God and that, i suppose, does a lot to allay any fears i might have had. Best wishes!

I'm a bit apprehensive of the dying process, but not what comes after dying. I say apprehensive instead of fear because to me those two words mean very different things. If you've ever studied the dying process (like for some type of health science class), you know that it isn't very pleasant. So I'm not exactly looking forward to the pain and discomfort.
But what happens after death doesn't scare me.

Yes, I do. I am definitely afraid of leaving my children too early. My son is 2 years-old, therefore I am very afraid of leaving him. I am afraid of suffering pain too. I am afraid of illness and pain. I am not afraid of what's gonna happen. I know I am going to meet people that already passed away and I will be comforted and loved. I will be returning home. No fear at all. I just don't think I am ready yet. I wish I could go after 90 years-old, calmly and peacefully.
Peace!

No. I do fear dying in a horrible way; like fire or drowning. But not death itself. I believe I'll be with God and my family after death.

Not really..I have a life threatening illness but I don't fear death. I realize that I have lived, loved, learned, traveled, and most importantly established unbreakable bonds with friends and family.
