Eating only fruit and vegetables is incredibly dangerous. Your missing out on important protein and vitamins. You should eat fruit and vegetables, but also try and eat things like tofu and lean fish.
You will just get sick and weak if you don't have protein.

I don't really have a total answer, since I've never been overweight. But take a cue from body builders who eat a lot but don't get fat.
They eat throughout the day. They don't just eat 3 - 4 meals a day. They eat a hearty breakfast, a hearty lunch and a light dinner. They fit 3 - 4 small healthy snacks inbetween their regular meals. Why does this prevent weight gain? It keeps your digestive system working all the time. You don't let it shut down inbetween meals. Also because you are eating throughout the day, you are not so hungry around dinner time and are less likely to gorge yourself.
Americans in general tend to eat way too much at dinner time.
There are lots of info on healthy diets on the internet. Look for diets you can live with for the long haul. Temporary fast weight loss diets are not good for you.

Well, congratulations on having the motivation to do it, as well as having a plan.
I think you should eat more than fruits and veggies though otherwise you're going to be really hungry. And, when you're really hungry you might feel tempted to cheat and eat stuff you shouldn't.
Try eating healthy, lean cuts of chicken and fish. Sautee with very light oil or bake it so it doesn't have much fat.
For your exercise program you could try adding walking or running. Climbing stairs may get a little boring, plus it's hard on your knees if you do it repeatedly daily.
Good luck! =)

No. You need to eat meat. Just be careful what you eat. Don't eat fast food, drink less soda and more water, try to eat less candy. Also, change your workout, go on a run for a mile or two instead of going up and down stairs. How tall are you? That has a large effect on your weight. If you're taller than 5'8" or so you probably are in good shape.

Hey. Look i had the same problem as you have. I weighed 185 at the age of 15. Now at the age of 16 I'm at 143. What i did was got a membership to my local YMCA and gave up sodas, of all kind, FOR GOOD. I 'm not sure if the sodas were my problem but it helped when i gave them up. Also I'm in marching band at my high school and even though it doesn't look like much it is. I'm not saying though that you should go join marching band but you should find a school or after school activity that gets your heart pumping...literally! Now don't get me wrong it was a long process losing 40 pounds but with determination you can do it.

Get with your parents tell them you need to see a doctor that can help you lose weight safe and effectively running up and down stairs may not be good for your legs and you may fall.
A doctor can give you a proper diet and exercise plan that will allow you to loose the pounds without harming your body.

Exercise is always good, but not running up and down stairs, walk, drink lots of water, cut out all sweets, cut back on starch's and breads. Try not to eat after 6:00 in the evening and never go to bed with a full stomach. If you drink alot of sodas try to cut back and drink more water instead. If you drink alot of milk, try soymilk it will help you loose weight. If you need a snack try a piece of fruit, yogart or popcorn and please start your day with a good breakfast.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and that's how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, ice cream, candy etc) and nothing fried in lots of oil.
you can spoil yourself once in a while, of-course:)

Fruit and vegetables only and excessive exercise will land you in the hospital. You need to speak to your parents and doctor about a diet and exercise plan that is healthy and will work. Information you receive on line is sketchy and you are too young to risk a dangerous weight-loss plan. Good luck.

You said 174lbs, but you never said how tall you are. Either way, go see your pedestrian and get some medical advice. Your weight may be hereditary. Remember not everybody is meant to be a size 2! Stay healthy. (Mentally, Physical, and Spiritually).
Dancing is a great form of exercise.
