I was in AFROTC back in 95. If I remember correctly, the MINIMUM time for the 1.5mile run was 14.5 minutes for the women, and 12 minutes for the men (which is BS but that's a whole different story).

To answer your question, in my opinion a GOOD time would be anywhere from 1.5 to 2 minutes below the minimum. The best I ever did was 9:40, and I probably could have shaved another 20-30 seconds off of that. The best I remember anybody doing it was 7:30, but he was an all-state track star in high-school. I don't remember any of the women beating the worst time by any of the men. If you can get down to 9 minutes, that's pretty dang good.

The AF does call it Basic Training, but I do not know the times, I think in october they are changing it up anyway.. They are adding 2.5 weeks to BMT... But I'd shoot for under 11 mins as a start...

Oh, and warpigs below me there has the scoring set for the Army in his answer, the AF maxes out at 100 for the post BMT scores, 50 for run, 10 for pushups, 10 for situps, and thirty for abdominal circumference.

Under thirteen min will land you a 100 points. If you get a 100 points on pushups and sit-ups then anything over is counted. My highest was a 365.That's 2 miles for the run and 2 min for the other two.

Basic Training is Army. Army doesn't do a 1.5mi.

I don't THINK AF calls it Basic, anyway.

Good for a 2mile is 14min
