Hannah was barren for many years and after praying to Jehovah God for a child and promising to give him to serve at the temple, she was blessed with a son (Samuel). In the account, she displayed several desirable qualities.
She was prayerful and humble, and she had a desire to please her husband. She went with her husband each year to sacrifice at the tabernacle and made a great sacrifice by giving up the companionship of her son. She kept her promise to God and showed appreciation for His kindness. She continued to show she was a good mother as shown by her visits to Samuel and making a new coat for Samuel each year.

She was Samuel's mother, the barren wife. Hannah represented the Gentiles (New Testament) while Penninah, the fertile yet less favored wife represented the Jews (Old Testament).
Hannah always prayed to God to give her a son. She eventually made a deal with him that he'd offer his son, if he'd give her one, to him. She offered 3 things to the temple and she was given Samuel who became the first to annoint kings for the Israelites.
Hope this helps. God bless! Always!

Hannah was the co wife of a man who had 10 children w/his first wife. the first wife would tease her unmercifully bc she was barren. her husband tried his best to comfort her, saying "Hannah, am i not more to you than ten sons?" but she couldn't be consoled. so as a last attempt at gaining a child, she went to the temple and threw herself prostrate b4 God, saying that if he would only give her a child ,she would dedicate him to God's service.so fervent were her prayers, and her grief so overwhelming that the priest,Eli, thought at first that she was drunk. he told her to leave bc of it, not to defile the temple of God w/her drunkeness. she told him she wasn't drunk, and told him what she had said to God. He told her to go home, that she would have her son.and, true to the priest's words, 9 months later, she was delivered of a son, whom she named Samuel, and kept her promise, dedicating him as soon as he was old enough to be an assistant to Eli.
