If you have a CD burner, you can burn them onto a disc as a Data CD. If you have a CD Burner, you should have a CD burning program like Nero or something. Just burn as a Data CD and you'll be able to put Photos on them. Oh, and be sure to buy CD+Rs, CD-Rs, or CD-RWs. Then burn them ono the CD with your favorite CD burning software.

To put pictures on a CD, follow these steps:
Go to My Pictures and press and hold down CTRL as you click on pictures that you want to be selected. You can then press CTRL and C at the same time to copy them to the clipboard. Then open My Computer and double-click the CD burner icon. Press CTRL and V at the same time to paste the pictures in the temporary area for CD burning. Then insert a blank or writable CD-R or CD-RW that has enough space for your pictures. Click "Write these files to CD" to open the CD Writing Wizard and follow the on-screen directions to burn the pictures to your CD. If you wish, you may delete the pictures from your hard disk if they are written to your CD.

I have two burners -- a Samsung and a Dell. Both require that you use CD/RWs, and that they first be formatted with their software before using a CD for data files.

You will not be able to open and read that CD on another computer unless you download a small reader program from the software company that powers your burner.

Save yourself time and aggravation and get a flashdrive.
