no, there is no such thing as bad luck, you can bring negativity into your life if you dish bad karma into the universe, (you reap what you sow) but by breaking a mirror you can't get bad vibes. Although the human brain is so powerful that if you believe it can bring you bad luck you could bring the bad karma towards you.

For those who are superstitious and believe in bad luck, perhaps. But remember, there is no such thing as bad luck, just missed opportunities. "Lucky" people are often those who are proactive enough to create opportunities. :)

The origin of the broken mirror superstition is actually quite interesting. Back before the invention of mirrors, people would stare at their reflections in pools, ponds, etc. If the image was distorted, it was a sign of impending disaster. After the creation of the glass mirror, the Romans decided it was "bad luck" to break a mirror, probably because they were such prized items. The 7 years rule came from the Roman belief that man is rejuvenated every 7 years, becoming, essentially, a new man.

Just some interesting information. :)

They say that it is seven years bad luck if you break a mirror but that's all superstition and it should not be believed in

That's what rich people used to tell their slaves a long time ago when mirrors used to be expensive and only rich people could afford them.
