I want it to take up a lot of space, half the neck on one side up to below the jaw line or have it ride low and go all the way around. Nothing dumb like stupid knot tattoos or barb wire or something moronic like that.

Just remember that not everyone appreciates a great tattoo.
You may want to impress a girl or go to an important job interview so put it where it could be covered up.

Don't do it! They are tacky as hell and can't be covered up with clothes. I have heard people are more likely to get stopped at airport security if they have neck tattoos, not to mention police etc as they can have 'gang' connotations. I am not against tattoos...being thoroughly tattooed myself but I would never get one on my neck or face.

If your not heavily tattooed already you'll find it hard to find a tattoo artist that will tattoo your neck. I agree it's up to you if you want to get your neck tattooed but think about it long and hard first.
