you know, i held the idea that as long as you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and God the heavely Father, creator of heaven and earth and all who belong to them, this is what matters no matter what religion you're in. But i questioned myself wouldn't this contradict with one's religious teaching like Buddhist, Muslim, ETC. since there's 'this and that"??

i'm a re-born Christian (at 19, 20 now), and i'm not trying to make other religions seem false, but considering all the many many religions out there, especially the ones that are similar like Christians and Mormons, its pretty hard to interpret the "real" meaning.

Mormons are not Christians. If you look into what they believe, they claim to believe in Jesus, but the question is what Jesus? You see the Mormons deny that Jesus Christ arose bodily from the grave. They believe He only arose spiritually. They also do not believe that Jesus is God they only believe He is "a" God. It is a very subtle deceitful teaching. Below is a link you can check out for a book to read online that has many answers about the Mormon faith.

What lies and untruths do people say? Most LDS don't want to answer the questions asked, they answer the questions people should have asked.

The LDS church don't trust the Bible. They will say how they love the Bible. The leaders of the church have said that the Bible has been corrupt over time and is full of errors.

Joseph Smith said that the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on the face of the earth.

Their doctrines go directly against the Bible and Jesus.
They try really hard to be Christian but they can't be, their doctrines won't let them.

The LDS cry and say how the church has many enemies, when people are only stating the facts about the Church.

I don't care about the thumbs down, or that the LDS think 'I'm of the devil". I don't believe or worship their Jesus or believe in their plan of salvation. I know that God is not a exalted man, he is a spirit like Jesus said. That I will be with him and my family in Heaven.

With Mormons, There is one fold one faith and on baptism, Meaning that the church is the same everywhere.

Where "Christians" are divided agianst themselves.

Mormons are Christians in the sense that we believe in Christ as our Savior. But we are not divided against each other.

Another thing is that Mormons hold the preisthood and each member has a line of authority that can be traced back to Christ.

Another thing is that Mormons have Prophets who still lead the affairs of the church under God, just as in the olden times.

Another thing is that Mormons actually serve people in need in stead of just talking about it on Sundays.

There is a whole list that I could think of, but I don't want to offend any "worldly christians"

Well to get the "real meanings" behind each religion takes lots of personal effort to study them out, and I'd suggest doing so "from the horse's mouth" for as many as you can - that means going to the actual members, or official websites, or official publications to find out what they believe in.

For the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon is actually just a nickname) a good official source to start with is here: http://www.mormon.org/welcome/0,6929,403-1,00.html

Thanks and God bless

"Christian" was once a generic term for slave. After 313AD the Romans created christianity to control their masses of slaves (over 90% of the Roman population). The chattel slaves were converted to 'serfs" who were also known as "christians" after the christian organization was established to control and manage them for the Roman nobility. After it's effectivenes as a slave management organization started wearing thin it splintered into many groups, all of whom wanted their share of the political power and wealth that was once wielded by the christian totalitarian dictators Each and every one of the splinter 'cults' subscribed to the 'infallibility' doctrine which said that their truth was the only truth no matter how wacko and far fetched. And they all started saying that all the other cults were invalid, which is where we not find ourselves in looking at the relationship between certain christian cults which includes the Mormons. Many of these cults now claims that the original mother catholic church is not a "christian" church. These are usually the more fanatical tyrannical fundamentalist mind control cults, ther worst of the brain damaged.

I don't think there really is a difference. Christians believe in Christ. They believe he is the Savior. Mormons believe this, also. Therefore, Mormons are Christians.

I guess it depends on your definition but I think if people put so many restrictions and limitations on who is a Christian and who isn't, they are bound to eliminate everyone but themselves.

Haha, Blondiebaptist, I don't see any "flaws" that you pointed out. In fact, everything you said is a distortion of true LDS beliefs. In case you didn't notice, those who said that Mormons ARE Christians got thumbs down as well.

I would like to clear a few things up. 1. We are Christians, We believe in Jesus Christ as our lord and savior.
2.We are NOT pagans
3.The mountain meadow massacre did NOT occur in MO, it occured in UT. I should know I lived in UT for 20 something years of my life.

However, there are some differences between us and the rest of Christianity.Cheifly,The Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ. It does not replace the Bible but rather complements it.

Also, we believe in a living prophet as well as dead ones.

We have a lay clergy, they don't get paid.

What free2be said is what we believe.

4. We believe in the resurrection of Christ and that He died on the cross for our sins. His spirit and His body were reunited and He is alive today. I know that He is my Lord and Savior. I know that the Book Of Mormon is true. I know that the church is true. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

5. check out the following website for more of our beliefs;

Wow you've got a lot of answers to sift through, but i would like to say if you want to know if we are christian, judge for yourself. Meet some. We are christian in the sense that we believe in Jesus Christ, that He atoned for our sins and died on the cross, and rose the 3rd day body and soul contrary to one comment. We believe in many similar things but also we believe in many different things. those different things are what people try to pass off as us not being christians. Some things that are different:
1. Book of Mormon (ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ we love and study the King James Bible equally
2. we believe in works AND grace. we believe that we could not be saved without our Lords atoning sacrafice, but that also without our works, our showing our commitment, that grace alone will not save us. Why all the parables of how we are supposed to be on this earth if we are not to apply them. Are they jsut supposed to be good bedtime stories? no. just like you have to prove yourself at a job to get promoted we need to prove ourselves. Why should the guy that is constantly trying to live a christ like life gonna get the same credit as the guy who woke up one morning, said "i accept jesus" and continued living his life the same way get the same rewards as the oather guy. OUr Heavenly Father is just.
3. no paid clergy
Actually the guy who listed all 13 summed it up the best. That is what we believe in a nut shell. We are denomination of christianity but some don't accept us as mainstream because alot of misconceptions and lies have been spread like wild fire. A lot are what you got for answers. Everyone is entilted to their opinion, but i wish that those who preach that they are christian, and we are not would show a little more christian attitude about it. i thought christianity was based on loving and respecting one another, and uplifting one another? For those of you that are taught that, is this only extended to those you feel are christian? because i thought it was supposed to be everyone. At least that's the was i was taught treat people, and was the Christ like thing to do.

One of the main differences is that Christians believe only in the Bibles teachings, while the Mormons/Latter Day Saints believe in the Bible and The Book of Mormon.
There are quite a lot of difference's between the two beliefs.
