It's for a school project and I need more opinions. This man pretended to be a preacher and did wonderful things for the people, but in reality all he doesn't believe in God. All he's ever really wanted to do was to yell out his secret, and die so he no longer had to suffer having that secret. There a quoate that simbolized that he denied Christ.

It's for a school project and I need more opinions. This man pretended to be a preacher and did wonderful things for the people. Giving out food for the poor, making suicidal victims happy again, helping women find husbands (its the old days) by pretending he believes in God, but in reality he doesn't believe in God. All he's ever really wanted to do was to yell out his secret, and die so he no longer had to suffer having that secret. There a quoate that simbolized that he denied Christ.

No, he would not be Canonized a Saint.
A Martyred Saint is someone who dies for his/her faith in God.

A man who died a martyr for a cause who does not believe in God must have died for his country; so therefore; he can be made a country's hero.
What is the need to be a saint? His soul will never rest there?
But to preach something you do not believe does not have any meaning at all even if it has made wonderful thing for the people. Those wonderful things you are talking about may have even be a halt to some of the people's own spiritual progress. And what secret must it be?

No, he cannot. The Biblical definition of a saint is one who is a believer in God and Christ. For example, St. Paul begins his Letter to the Colossians like this:
Colossians 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ
A canonized saint in the Catholic church is one who has lived an unusually holy life in God's service and has been proclaimed as worthy to be a role model for those of us still on earth. The first step in declaring someone a saint is to name them as "Servant of God."
So therefore a canonized saint could not be an unbeliever, either. The man in your example might be a martyr to some cause, but he would not be a Christian martyr if he denied Jesus.

First of all, if you do not believe in GOD, you cannot die a martyr's death. If you mean a saint as in Paul and Peter then his opportunity to become a saint was here on earth. By the way, saint means one who follows Jesus. So if he doesn't believe then NO!!!!!!!!!
In the after life that man will come to the throne of Christ say Lord, Lord look what I have done in your name. However, Jesus will then tell him, "Depart from me, you worker of inequity, I never knew you.
The ironic thing about your story is that the man may have died a violent death, but if he didn't believe in God it was all in vain.
Salvation is a gift of God, NOT of works lest any man should boast. You can do all the good works you want, but you cannot get to heaven on the works program.
Without FAITH it is impossible to please God, That secret of his has killed him both physically and spiritually. He is now being tormented in the flames of hell as we speak.

No, because you must have faith in order to die a martyr; if you're dying as a "martyr" yet don't believe your death is just a lie and it's done in vain. However, in order to die a martyr you would need to believe so why would someone offer their life for a religious cause if they don't even believe in it? If you are ready to offer your life for something you obviously have some faith in it, which means that you have a little faith in God. Any way's, I have no idea what I'm even saying so I must leave. Peace

Main Entry: 1mar·tyr
Pronunciation: 'mär-t&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English, from Late Latin, from Greek martyr-, martys witness
1 : a person who voluntarily suffers death as the penalty of witnessing to and refusing to renounce a religion
Seems to me if one doesn't believe then one wouldn't die a martyr and would not become a saint.

If the preacher was doing things for the betterment of society means he was a messenger of God the question of no belief does not arise as he was doing what was desired by God.

anyone who died a martyr has died in vain! Martyrdom is satanic myth that goes all the way back to the false promise of the serpent in the garden.

You cannot become a saint after you die. This is a teaching of the catholic church that is not supported by scripture.
