i have 7... so for me getting a tattoo is kind of like an intense massage... i have an injured spine and for some reason tattooing loosens the muscles for me. for some people its enjoyable but for others its very painful. it all depends on your tolerance for pain. i know several people who have tats below their belly button and half say it was the most painful they have had but others say it was quite enjoyable for them. me... i have a tattoo down my entire spine and that hurt less that the one i have on my hip... in other words.. it varies according to the person.

i never gotten one on my stomach but my back tattoo curves around to my side an it comes close an it seems it does hurt, at least relating to my back, i have a whole back piece an the parts that hurt the most were my sides an the very top of my shoulders (im a little boney) lol. but i would also add the first 2 hours arent too bad so maybe you should just do sessions to what your comfortible with. get it done an when you cant take it any more its no problem to just come back in a few weeks an finish it

Well the way a tattoo feels when getting it REALLY depends on the person getting it. I have 2 tats one on each of my top arms. The first one on my LEFT upper arm didn't hurt much at all. The second one on my RIGHT upper arm stung a little bit when it reached around back of the arm. It's REALLY sensitive there. The stomach tattoo MIGHT hurt, but like I said, it depends on the person and how they perceive pain...

I just got a tattoo on my arm. I hear this is one of the least painful places to get one. I didn't really think it hurt at all, not even as much as a tetanus shot (which didn't hurt that much either). But then, I have a pretty high pain tolerance.
I understand that on your lower stomach is pretty painful. It really depends on how much pain you think you can handle, and how much you want a tattoo right there.

I have three small tattoos. It does hurt alittle, but it's not a horrible pain. Some people describe it as painful sunburn feeling.
I've heard the most painful place to get a tattoo is anywhere
near a bone. I love mine and would like to get more.

It can hurt, but it also makes you feel great at the same time. I have 6 now, and soon to be a hell of a lot more. The hand for me was the most painful, and the upper arm was hardly felt at all. But then again, I have three kids, so a couple needles in my skin feels like a vacation:)

This question is so ridiculous of course getting a tattoo
hurts!! I have one tattoo on my ankle and one on my lower back and my opinion is that a tattoo anywhere on your body is going to hurt!!
Edit:
Wow- these people have a high tolerance for pain. I
had three nine pound baby boys, three c-sections and I think that equals the same amount of pain I experienced from my two tattoos.

It all depends on the area, the one everyone asks me if it hurt is on my wrist, and it did not hurt one bit! It hurt a little more when I go it touched up, but thats because the artist was applying more pressure to be sure to fill it on in. I have 3 tattoos, one on my wrist, as I mentioned above, one on my forearm and one on my upper on, none hurt. . But from what I hear fatty areas and area's w/stretch marks hurt the most. over all the feeling come from the vibrations from the ink gun, I would definately get one, even if it might hurt, its always worth the pain, especially if it turns out great and is something you love and always will love!

tattoos depend on where you get them and how much pain you can handle. I have them on my back and they feel like rug burns to me. other people say they are the worst experience ever. They usually hurt the most directly on bone.. like feet, hands, spine, and lower back.Lower back because of the fact all your nerves start at the bottom near the tail bone. Fleshy spots aren't bad, so bottom of the stomach might not be awful.. depending on your pain tolerance.
good luck and happy tattooing!

i got one on my foot. Its 5 stars and it took honestly like 10 mins. But depending on where your body you are getting it, and how big will effect the feel of it. I heard that your forearm was the worst place.. Below the belly would be hott, but i bet that would hurt alot too!
To me it felt like a pen was digging into my skin..I have had friends who have said it feels like a burning feelings, but after awhile the pain goes away because it numbs!
But its a really cool experience and i hope it goes well for you!
