If a person identifying as a homosexual never "acts" on the temptation (ie: intercourse, fantasizing), however enters into a loving and intimate bond with another of the same sex which remains sexually unphysical..is that considered a sinful act?

It is okay for a man to love another man if they don't commit a homosexual act.

According to the Bible, you are not a homosexual unless you are engaging in physical homosexual activities.
God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

Jesus says that when you look at someone with lust then you are guilty of adultery.

So will the person entering in to a loving and intimate bond with someone of the same sex, be able to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ Jesus?

If a person is identifying themselves as a homosexual (celebate or not), here is some of what the bible says about homosexuality:
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; nether fornicators, nor idolateres, nor adulterers, nor effemintate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
Such were some of you;
but you were washed
but you were sanctified
but you were justified
in the name of the Lord Jesus Chrsit and in the Spirit of our God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Obviously this list includes many other sins that God will judge, but look at the lovingkindness when He says, such were some of you. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

If a person is struggling with thoughts of ANY sin not just homosexuality, we are told to take those thoughts captive. God is willing and able to help us out of temptation. Many people have been restored to a godly lifestyle from all sorts of things - habitual lying, stealing, drugs, prostitution, alchoholism, etc.. and homosexuality.

There is help for those who wish to be reconciled to God, but find themselves struggling in this area.

Jesus said in Matthew 5 that the thought was as bad as the deed. Okay? So now that we have that bit of hermenutics, it becomes important to know that we cannot stop sin! Oh we might not do this or that, but it's our nature to sin, biggest homo, or straightest nazi rapist. And everyone in between. We are all sinners!

The whole point to Christianity is that we need Jesus to cover those sins. That's why there were sacrifices in the Old Testament; to make a covering for sin. Those sacrifices were not like Jesus, because Jesus the Christ made that final sacrifice.

So if you catch yourself again about to ask about yourself "is this a sin" or "is that a sin", just say yes and get it over with! It's not what we are to be focusing on anyway. And God isn't up in heaven worrying about your daily sins. He covered them in Jesus already.

That's why the Gospel is so important to understand. Because you have every f'ck in the world telling you that you can't do something. If you are trusting God through Jesus Christ you are one of his people, and those Fundies who try to get at you with your apparent sins can be told to shove it.

There is no way to be a celibate homosexual! The act of sex between two of the same sex is what "labels" this person as a homosexual. Nice try though. If Christians had said yes then a the men who love Jesus would have a lot to explain.

Tell all your Gay friends to ditch the Christian way and become Pagans. We have much more fun, we don't judge you and Goddess loves her fairies!

Being sexually oriented to the same sex is not a sin--being sexually active with the same sex, however, is a sin, known as homosexuality. Being a gay man and loving another man is not sinful, as long as you aren't sexually active with him. After all, Love comes from God.

I'm not really sure, but much of what we do in this world is sinful. The whole idea isn't to be completely free of sin, which is impossible, but to find redemption and forgiveness.

As sins go, what you describe seems pretty tame.

if they live together, it might count as fornication.
They probably shouldnt be like a couple, it would likely be too difficult to resist temptation.

Stop cursing homosexuals blindly. Some of them are struggling to overcome their desires and God smiles on them. They need your prayers, not your judgement

You are describing a platonic relationship.
No, it is not sinful.

But then neither should they stumble a weaker believer, or a non-believer. i.e., they should not live together. It is the appearance of evil.
