Well for those who have , I am about to blow that theory out of the water. That argument is not valid because not all countries have Social Security. In fact the US is the only one.

No, I have never heard that a social security number could be the mark of the beast - ever. 40 years of being a Christian and not once - until today. The mark of the beast is believed to be a 3 digit number (666) and a social security number has quite a few more..... xxx-xx-xxxx.

Let me blow your theory out of the water. The mark of the beast will be a mark that we(everybody on planet earth) will have a conscious decision to take it or not.
The SS# was assigned to us at our birth, I don't know about you, but back then nobody asked me if I wanted to accept it or not.
And another theory buster, the mark isn't coming until AFTER the anti-christ is revealed. We will be told to take the mark and worship him or die!!!! Anyone ever tell you that about the SS#.
One last theory buster, there ain't gonna be no rapture of the saints. At least not like left behind shows it. Everyone should try reading the Bible instead of sitting around letting a man tell them what to think.

I have heard of that and many other things I believe that a social security number or any number of forms of ID could be involved..but I believe the Mark of the Beast comes down to worship..worshipping some power and authority. The bible speaks of this power causing people to not be able to buy or sell..so I feel that ID will be involved.

The number could be the number 666 but more apt to be a specific number assigned to each person in the world. The SSN is just an example of how it would be done except it will be either on your forehead or hand. BUT......if you lost your hand you would lose your number where as if you lost your head it wouldn't matter.

No, I doubt that the number will be a social security # because it won't be assigned by the US of A but by the New World Order. Pops

I've heard lots of things. One that seems to make sense is a microchip that can store all of our personal information and could also be used to track us. They are already being used in some places, voluntarily, but of course they aren't the mark of the beast at this point. I don't intend to be around to find out exactly what will be used.

There are many theories of what the mark 666 is and its representation as a literal number, but does that register with what the symbolic book of Revelation is telling us. Is the beast of Revelation an actual creature that arises out of the sea that peoples admire and in return receive its mark. If the reader were to compare the book with Daniel they would see a parallel of what 'beasts' represent. In Daniels vision world powers are likened to beasts. He also sees a symbolic image of a statue representing those successive world powers. Likewise wouldn't the beast in Revelation also prefigure a governmental world power whom persons are admiring and giving their support to, with their hand and mind showing a salute of allegiance. 666 in the bible being an imperfect number, emphasized three times would show how fatal it would be to give our support to this government. Isn't God trying to warn us to not give our allegiance to this beast, as only his kingdom power will be recognized as the one that can bring about world peace as shown in Daniel 2:44. The point is, who can identify who the beast in Revelation is?

but the social security # is a better way to register people. i used to live in several countries and the best way to register is by using number instead of name and computerized it. It may will be the mark of the beast or not has to be proved latter.
