I might have ADD or something. I don't want to be one of those stupid people who gets bad grades and just says "Well I have ADD". I mean, every time I sit down to study I just blank "Uhhhh". I want to get better grades, It's starting to make me very depressed.

PS: I had a major seizure when I was 8 (I'm 16 now). Could this have contributed to it?

Problems with memory and attention have all sorts of causes, from the physical (dementia, anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency) to the psychiatric (ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders). Unfortunately, without more information it would be impossible to tell you why these problems are occurring, or what possible treatments may be. Do not be focused on one particular cause, such as ADHD (formerly ADD) because you don't want to jump to conclusions on this.

While most single seizures are not related, people with multiple untreated seizures related to epilepsy can be left with some persistent memory problems. While this does not sound related, it certainly is worth discussing with your doctor.

As always, discuss these and any questions with your doctor.

I'm not sure if the seizure would have anything to do with it. You're not stupid. Please don't ever think that. Talk to your parents and tell them what's going on. You should see a doctor about this. There is help out there. :)

Depression can do it. A sense of being overwhelmed can do it. "Fibromyalgia fog" can do it. Having too many things to remember or to juggle can do it.
