I know there are support groups for JW's at least. I guess it is because Mormonism controlled EVERY aspect of our lives before we left. I know that when I left I was very confused. Up till then, I had been told what my goals in life were (being a girl, it was to get married ASAP and have babies, fulfill my church callings, go to the temple, go to church, pay my tithing). Of course mormons aren't little robots either and are very diversified, but the church still manages to reach out there and have as much as control as possible. Think of a person leaving an abusive relationship (mentally not physically), that's kind of what it was like.

It's gotta be hard to leave Christ's restored church. I know that, for me to leave the protestant church to join the LDS church was no problem at all.

I think the ones who need a support group are those who deep down still know it's true, but don't want to accept it. Because there are those who leave the church and have no problems.

People who leave the LDS church usually need support because their supposed loved ones all the sudden aren't so loving anymore (not ALL, but a LOT). Only about a third of my LDS friends will still talk to me after I told them I left. The LDS church isn't Christs true church, it is a conman's deception. Some people have no problem leaving the church while others do, the ones that do have a problem leaving....it isn't because they "know it is true" it is because they know it isn't true.

I've listened to some of the things that Mormons are thought. My opinion is you'd need help after being caught up in a cult. (kind of like polygamy families)Some walk away from religion and God period after being a Mormon. Then they are ex-communicated. When the ex-Mormon quits listening to the LDS church, the church tried making them feel like they are lost and they are going to hell. Seriously, I've heard it out of a Mormons(LDS) mouth.

I've never heard of that. Perhaps you're talking of those wacky ones who aren't really LDS but use the Book of Mormon down in southern Utah who have left their poligamist families. I can see how they would need help.

Religious abuse is prevalent in all of christianity. There are support groups for anyone leaving a christian religion. Here's one example:
