Though they have wills, the angels are, like all creatures, subject to the will of God. Good angels are sent by God to help believers (Hebrews 1:14). Here are some activities the Bible ascribes to angels:
A. They praise God (Psalm 148:1,2; Isaiah 6:3).
B. They worship God (Hebrews 1:6; Revelation 5:8-13).
C. They rejoice in what God does (Job 38:6-7).
D. They serve God (Psalm 103:20; Revelation 22:9).
E. They appear before God (Job 1:6; 2:1).
F. They are instruments of God's judgments (Revelation 7:1; 8:2).
G. They bring answers to prayer (Acts 12:5-10).
H. They aid in winning people to Christ (Acts 8:26; 10:3).
I. They observe Christian order, work, and suffering (1 Corinthians 4:9; 11:10; Ephesians 3:10; 1 Peter 1:12).
J. They encourage in times of danger (Acts 27:23,24).
K. They care for the righteous at the time of death (Luke 16:22).
Job 38:4-7 describes the angels worshipping God as He was creating the world – “Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone - while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?” (Job 38:4-7). So, although the Bible does not specifically say when God created the angels, it was sometime before the world was created. Whether this was a day before, or a thousand years before, we cannot be sure.

Angels were made before man to worship God. They are finite, so they are slightly more powerful than us, but not as powerful as God.
Satan is a fallen angel. He is called "the morning star" in the Old Testament.
Angels are protectors and messengers. The archangel Michael is the protector of Israel.
Gabriel is another major angelic character.

These are messengers of the Lord, and are spoken of in Hebrews as "ministering spirits" (Hebrewes 1:14). There are two classes of angels that minister for the Lord. those who are spirits and those who have bodies of flesh and bone. Spirits are those who either have not yet obtained a body (unembodied), or who have once had a mortal body and have died, and are awaiting the resurrection. (disembodied). Ordinarilly the word angel means those ministering persons who have a body of flesh and bone, being either resurrected from the dead (reembodied), or else translated, as where Enoch, Elijah, etc.
