When you're not constipated the colon and small intestine both contract regularly to propel the food from the small intestine into the colon. When you are consitpated, the colon signals the small intestine and the stomach that there is a back up and the regular rhythmic movement of the small intestine and colon are interruped. When the contraction is irregular, air can build up in the GI tract and you hear "growls" as the air is pushed around the GI tract.

This sounds like you don't eat on a regular schedule, and may not be able to get to the bathroom when you need to (like business meetings).
Stomach "growling" whether empty or full, is merely solids tumbling down your intestines and air or gas bubbling up the other way. Perfectly normal. Abnormal would be not to have such activity and sounds.

yes it is, means that your bowels are still moving around in there....(all it means is that your intestines are still functioning like they are supposed to)
sounds like your diet isn't like it should be, you need to keep fresh fruits and veggies in you diet to have a regular cycle...aka roughage...
if you become constipated regularly then you really need to look into your diet and into any medications you may be taking, these also could have side effects of constipation.
if you aren't on regular medications that could cause this, then most likely your diet.
can have a check up and the Dr. would be able to tell you more.
Hope this helps

you need to eat foods that have more fiber. your stomach acid will always keep working to digest foods. when you stomach is empty too much acid will build up causing gas. the air travels to your intestines , your intestines squeeze the air out to a different part of the intestine and you get what is referred as bowel sounds. fruits and grains will keep you regular. drink 8 glasses of water a day. stool softeners will also help, docusate sodium or peri-colace.

It's not your stomach that's growling, it's your intestines.
