This guy attempted to rape me but I really keep denying that it was really attempted rape....I just cannot believe it.... I still trust this guy for some reason and I do not want to tell the cops and get myself into a whole trial.... it just seems so scary to do that.... is there any other way I can make him sorry for what he did besides telling the cops

You need to TAKE CARE OF YOU... and you aren't doing it.

You are rationalizing the guy's actions by denying that he attempted to harm or rape you.

Many young women who are raped, or sexually abused, KNOW the rapist... that is why so many of these acts of violence go unreported.

YOU CAN and ought to go to the police and file a report. They may not be able to do anything about it, but if he does this to someone else in the future, they will have your report on record....

Do you really want someone else to fall victim to him? Next time, he may just rape someone (if he hasn't already).

Protect yourself... do what you need to do for YOU. no one else will.

hugz.

Don't let him get away. Think about the worst case scenario: You do nothing, and the guy ends up actually raping another girl. You have to think sensibly about the situation. It is no different if the guy had threatened your life with a weapon. It is also better if you report this now. Because he did not rape you, he has a better chance at realizing his errors and not repeating the same mistake. His punishment will also be less severe considering it was only an attempt.
This is not about making him feel sorry, it's about making sure that this guy won't end up eventually raping you or someone else.

If he really tried to rape you how could you trust him at all? Honestly, wether you tell the cops or not, how and why would you trust him? That doesn't make since to me.
If this guy attempted to rape you then you NEED to tell the police because if you don't then he may try again and just figure you won't do anything about it anyhow. Who knows, maybe he'll do it to others also. Stop him from having the opportunity to do it to you or to others.

Oh honey, pleeeeeease go to the police! I know ur scared, but they r the only ones who can help u. Do NOT trust that guy. He'll only do it again. And he will not just attempt to rape u, he'll go all the way! U may never have to go to trial, may not even have to appear in court. There is no other way to make him sorry, as u put it. Please let the cops deal with him. He should be put away for what he did to u.

Its not about making him sorry for what he did, its also about making sure it never happens to anyone else. I'm really sorry for what you have been through, i know its hard. I have been in a similar situation, I didn't tell the police as I was afraid of having to relive that horrible experience again in court, but a few years later, I found out he had done it to another young girl. I now feel very guilty that I let that happen to someone else. I could have stopped it but I chose to hide instead. I highly suggest you talk to a cop, or at least a support service who can give you legal info and also can help you deal with these feelings.

well whats going to happen is if he gets the chance he will rape you then go on to the next victim.Congradulate yourself for being gutless.Tell your mom and dad and do the RIGHT thing and tell the cops before he does rape someone. He may think about killing you to shut you up.Now you say you still trust him.Trust him to what?Or are you really flattered that he "wanted "you so much he would try to rape you?You need to tell the cops.If you dont now, you may wish you had later.Dont wait too long.

You should consider at least reporting the incident to the police. At least then it is on record that he attempted to harm someone. The next time, it may not be 'attempted' but actual rape and your report could help. Unfortunately, you may only be doing this to help other girls in the future, but it may be cathartic for you as well.

I'm sorry this happened to you. If you don't want to go to trial then just stay away from him. You do not want him to be able to complete his mission. I would not attempt to "warn" other women about him because that could be considered slander if he hasn't been convicted. I strongly recommend going to trial simply for the fact that you can protect other women from this horror, but that is a personal choice, and very hard to make, I know. Whatever you do, stay strong, and see a counselor and doctor if you can to get checked out.

Dont be scared to call the police. Contact a rape crisis center asap. They are best equiped to help you and handle this with you. You sound like youre in a shock like state. SO get help, immediately!!

Dont take revenge personally. believe me, He''ll be in enough trouble when the compliant is filed. Booking, a record, and it stays on his background check. If you want revenge, take that statment as revenge.

Sub-conscious acts FTL.

Attempted rape is a huge thing, for both you and him. I wouldn't suggest being in front of your computer screen trying to ask for help from some online site. The way I see it, there really is no other way to make him sorry for what he did without getting yourself in trouble. Report this to the police ASAP.
