I think that the Israeli citizens will pressure him to resign.
If he were Japanese, he would have committed harakiri already.

I think Olmert will be forced to resign eventually, but he will cling to power for a while. Eventually he will be replaced by another person from Kadima. I personally hope that will be Tzipi Livni (and it isn't military experience that is important - it is intelligence and critical thinking). I certainly hope it will not be somebody like Avi Dichter or Shaul Mofaz.
The last thing Israel needs is an election which would bring back another failed prime minister to power. Bibi Netanyahu would not be any better than Olmert.

Probably not. I don't think people are as upset now as they were immediately following the conflict, and he managed to survive that. Having a weak government in office is beneficial to enough parties that they'll keep it in power. I don't think Kadima will get many seats next election with Olmert at its head, unless something good goes there way.
EDIT: um, changed my mind. Olmert now has an approval rating of 0%. Actually 0. His own party is calling on him to step down. I sincerely hope that he does; even if we're overreacting as a country, someone that unpopular cannot be a leader in a democracy. If he truelly cares about this country as any prime minister should and not just about himself, he has to resign.

I wish we had had a better candidate for PM than Olmert during the last election. No one was really ever sold on him (especially given his lack of military leadership experience) and it turns out we were right. And let's not forget, he still hasn't managed to return Gilad Shalit from the Palestinians...
There will be new elections soon.
EDIT: Aussie, I apologized once for disrespecting you. I made a mistake. I was wrong. You really are just a silly old man and I guess this will never change. Israel's very survival is dependant on having political leaders with a military background, people who can make the right decisions about going to war in Lebanon with Hizbullah. Had we had such a leader, perhaps much of the death and destruction from last summer's war could have been averted.

Olmert. period.
Olmert is useless, and something will probably happen to him after the winograd report. Yes, he is a useless idiot. He, the country's money manager, Peretz, and Katzav all are clinging to their chairs in their offices. All they care about is the money that they steal and recieve. The whole 'kneset' is a robbery. Everyone there are theives. I wish that Olmert would be kicked out (Go Shimon Peres) . In fact, I believe in this but in negetism, I say nothing will happen to him. He says that he is ok. He did nothing wrong. He only made us almost lose the war and he did "nothing". And Peretz, nobody talks to him or even thinks that he belongs in the kneset anymore. But he is still on his chair. He will never stop. He does not understand that in order to have peace with arab countries he has to show them that his army is strong and not weak, to show them that we can kill them if they don't have peace with us. But all he cares about is saying that he is 'good' and he just loves the money he is getting. Oh sweet money but hello!!!! Wakey wakey- there's a country in danger in which you are the one to blame for the danger that it is in! All the residents in Israel are ion danger and all he cares about is his money and stinkin' peace! Peretz and Olmert should be kicked out of the kneset because they are stinkin' lying robbers who think themselves as the best! Get real! There is a country. A life. Not everything in life is about Money and cash. Ok, your the prime minister, but you seem to have forgotten that you are the leader and have to lead the country in to victory with the arabs.
I don't care if olmert will be pushed out or not.
I don't care if he robs the banks.
And I don't care if he thinks himself as the 'best'
Olmert is one big ZERO and should be fired!
PERIOD.
END OF CONVERSATION.
AND NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!!!

Leaders must subject their own self-interests for the country's welfare. That is the most important.
Weather Olmert is doing that, I leave that for you to decide.

Winograd report did not mention the fact that poor Olmert got his war order from Bush and Olmert was not ready to say no to uncle Sam.

He will resign. Tzipi Livni will become leader,if only because of the truly unforgetable name. She is having a relationship with Angela Merkel of germany, which will be very advantageous to the crafty Jews. Merkel controls Syria. Syria permits old Russian artillery to pass through to what's left of Lebanon. Merkel can stop this. The Livni-Merkel relationship is pivotal to the ultimate goal of raw conquest. The fact that they are two lesbians who sincerely love each, the one a german the other a jew,is made for Hollywood,I mean made. It isn't strictly kosher but that can be worked out later. meantime, bomb the hell out of Iran (why not),finally and for good destroy the gaza strip, squeeze the west bankers till they shreik then shoot,eh life goes on,shalom. For some.

Yes Itay , let's get another military man in the driver's seat & really do the job properly next time hey !
When will you ever learn ! Isn't it enough that this idiot made such a disgraceful decision last year causing the unnecessary deaths of thousands & set the people of Lebanon back decades ...
Is this hand wringing purely about the fact that the " job " wasn't completed or have the Israeli public finally realised that it should never have occured in the first place ?
You tell me ! I hear nothing about compassion for the innocent , nothing about the massive destruction of property by gutless cowards dropping bombs from the safety of undefended airspace ! NOTHING !
