On July 4th 2006, I started having trouble breathing. It feels like I can't get a deep breath down everytime I take a deep breath. It has worked on me mentaly. I have some good days and when I have a bad day and my bbreathing is worse I get in such a state of depression It takes me a couple of days to get over it, then I am rite back where I started. I have had so many test run on me and put on too many different types of drugs I just want to be like my old self again. I don't know where to turn to anymore. The Doctors all tell me it is in my head and tell me to live with it. I have a 13 yearold daughter and I have missed so much because of the state I am in. I have tried to heal myself with herbs and searching on the internet but I have not found any answers yet. I've been told it was allergies, emphizema, asthma, anxiety. If it is in my head then I need help getting through it, I don't know what else to do if anyone has any answers for me I am listening...

If you smoke , you should stop smoking. to see if your breathing prolblems are associated with smoking. You might have asthma as you suspected. or emphysema or COPD. Other possible causes are indeed anxiety or some allergic reaction. Another health condition to be considered is the sick building syndrome.or Legionnaire's disease. Make sure you check your ventilation shafts; your air conditioning, any standing water can harbor the bacteria and molds and fungi.

For anxiety, you should try meditation, and yoga technique and get the doctor to prescribe some mild sedative. Take green tea. it's a good antioxidant. Drink plenty of fluids and try to get a good night's sleep.

Have your thyroid checked. You might have Hypothyroidism which accounts for your chronic fatigue syndrome. Try sleeping on two pillows. keep the window open for freshness. Go out for short walks and smell the fresh air.

Force yourself to get out off bed every day. Prolonged bedrests and inactivity sometimes attribute to pneumonia which might be another cause for your breathing problems.

I had the very same problems you describe few years back. My problems were so severe that I stayed indoors for almost 2 years. I was tested for MS, MG, and Lupus which all came back negative. My breathing problems and CFS was finally attributed to asthma ; anxiety, depression.and hypothyrodism. I was smoking then. Since i gave up smoking; i breathe better. I also lost weight and felt much better thereafter.

I also stripped the house of all area rugs, dust and chlorox bleached the floors. I cleaned all the window drapes and blinds and open the windows for proper ventilation. I also use a humidifier. i kept all shoes and slippers in the garage.

I would focus on the depression. There are so many counselling options available to help deal with those things in life that cause to be depressed and lose the will to live.

"In your head" isn't a bad thing. It only means that there is a psychological aspect to your suffering.

I would consider a new doctor. Anxiety and depression are treatable conditions even though they originate in the mind. When your health care provider stops taking you seriously and dismisses your issues, its time to search around.

It sounds to me more like anxiety than anything else. I went through the very same thing about 20 years ago. My doctor put me on Xanax and now atleast it's managable. Ask your doctor about it. It just may help. Also, hypnosis and relaxation techniques can help, although I've never tried any of 'em.

Get some fresh air. Go outside frequentily, garden, just sit outside on your patio. Sounds like you've been hiding inside all this time, which isn't good for you at all.

It may be chronic fatigue syndrome. It has real symptoms even though it sounds like just being tired. Look it up.
