Have you tried a sauna? You can probably find one at your local gym. It's just a room where you sit in and it's really hot in there so you sweat soooo much. Anyways, it really clears in the skin up. If that doesn't work, just see your doctor, and ask him/her about it.
Going to the tanning booth is a really bad idea. It does nothing to help, it actually just makes it worse. Instead lay out in your backyard instead, or at the beach, or at a community pool. Avoid slathering your back with sunscreen or tanning lotion. If you must, use Neutrogena products, they work very well for sensitive skin.

since everyone is different, i would recommend that what ever you - or someone in your family - used on facial acne, find a stronger version of the same product to use on your back. I once had a benzoyl peroxide 10% cream that was much too strong for my face but cleared my bacne right up.

i also recommend any cleansers containing sacyclic acid. just check the active ingredients of whatever cleanser you buy and see if its in there

Wash your sheets , towels, and washcloths in hot water and add bleach to that water color safe or even bleach alternative detergant is fine. You are killing the bacteria left by your skin which can reinfect it.
Get a new shower scrubby or wash the one you have in a soulution of bleach and water - one ounce bleach to ten ounces water.

Also try a body wash for acne like this one..

and follow with moisturizer for acne

See if you can track when you are breaking out the worst . If it is by chance due to hormones some people are helped by taking ortho tri cycline. This brings me to the second part .
If it doesn't clear up ask your doctor what you can do or stop doing so the breakout stops.
Try drinking more water to clean your skin from the inside.
If you have long hair keep it off your back. Alot of styling prouducts can irritate skin and make it break out .
You can also try using a clay mask on your back like the mint one queen helene makes . It sucks the oil away .It's good to mask maybe once a week
the tea tree oil and lemon body wash at the body shop along with the other tea tree stuff is good for acne.
Good luck

My brother had that problem as a teen. I was selling Avon at the time, and I gave him a bunch of samples of their Clearskin Invigorating Cleansing Scrub. It worked great. Made his acne go away for about two or three weeks, and I gave him some more after that. It's $4.29, and the description on thier site says "Micro particles and refreshing eucalyptus sweep away pore-clogging dirt, oil, problem-causing bacteria, and exfoliation-needed surface skin, so it looks radiant as it feels tingly fresh." You can use it on your face and as well as your body. Good luck with that.

I had the same problem, mine was absolutely horrible it went all over, and it was very large nasty pimples. Go to a dermatologist and ask about acutane. It's a medication that you can take in pill form. you take one every morning, the only negative thing about it is that it makes your skin on your face very dry. It did wonders for me. Now i feel confident wearing a backless shirt, I never could do that before. I always wore sweaters to hide my back and rarely went swimming.

get some gloves that are for scrub your body when you shower and use dandruff shampoo and scrub it in your back when your shower if you want it you can let it seat a little and then wash it.
if you do scrub your back with head shoulders every day with it eventually will control it. Don't scrub it too hard just like you will scrub your face.

It works for me for several years now.
