they are so egocentric.

it's like Christianity is the only real religion and everyone esle is damned for eternity... what is that

if you don't accept God your damned for eternity.."what about poor children in Africa that don't know of any christiany"

Seems like you can be a good person, a loving mother, father brother or sister, but if you don't give yourself to the Lord your damned for eternity.

it's like cutting the hand off a kid for sticking it in the cookie jar..
that something they can think about for eternity..or their entire life.

it is for these reasons alone that I think Christianity and most organized...well all Organized religions are BS

most were developed for political and ployes of power and control over the people.

Religion has been the root of more wars and discrimination then anything esle...Religion is a product of civilization nothing devine.

I think if you are a good person then you don't deserve eternal damnation because of your belief

Well... I am a Christian, and as far as "the only way to Heaven is through Jesus, that is one belief of our religion. We are taught to LOVE EVERYONE. (((And granted, some people go overboard on the witnessing thing and end up driving non-believers away with some of their actions))) I try not to... My husband and I are both Christians and our BEST FRIENDS are athiests. Most of those who try to convince you that Jesus is real and the only way to Heaven are doing so because they love you as a human being and they do not want to see you go to hell.

About the children in Africa thing... God says in the Bible that all will have the chance to know him (if the reach an age old enough to make thier own decisions) before they die. In other words, if I gave birth to a baby who died two minutes after being born, then that baby will not go to hell.

As far as your "if you're a good person" belief. Wow... I WISH it were that easy. But just take ONE second and open your mind. IF there is a God, and IF the only way to Heaven is through Jesus and Christianity and everyone who doesn't believe this will (even if it is LONG after their earthly body dies) will one day be thrown into a lake of fire and burn for all eternity... and I am saved and you are not, then I go to Heaven and you go to hell.
Now... on the other hand, IF there is no God and no Heaven and we are both good people right up until we die, then we both turn into nothing, I guess, after we die.
So, I either have an eternity of happiness with my savior or a eternity of nothingness.
And you either have an eternity of nothingness or an eternity of fire and brimstone, contant burning and torture.
Sounds horrible, I know... And it's impossible to imagine... almost sickening. But what IF it IS real??? Then what?

I don't know... I just thought I would try to answer some questions and give you something to think about. I AM a Christian, and I love God. But at the same time, I don't shun others for their beliefs. Like I said, our best friends are athiest and we also have very close friends that are lesbians (which isn't looked upon as as ideal in Baptist churches)... ! :)

Christians aren't better than other religious people. Some Christians are "bone heads". I hope they are working on that weakness and will become better Christians. No one is perfect (Rom 3:10, 23). No one is "good enough" to be saved on their own merit! We are glad that even some non-christians are good fathers, etc., but that is not what it takes for salvation.

It is the Christian God we believe to be better than any other "god".

If you believe something to be right, then things that contradict what you believe to be "right", you must believe they are "wrong". No matter what the subject.

If you don't believe anything is "right", then you have no beliefs at all.
Examples:
A person who believes evolution is "right", must believe the 6 days of creation described in the Bible is wrong.

A person who believes there is no God, must believe that all the people who say there is a God are wrong.

Your question says everyone has a belief. Yes, everyone has some things they believe to be right, true, and correct. By accepting these things, these people automatically state that the things contrary to this view are not right, false and incorrect.

Christians believe the God of the Bible is what he claims to be, tho only true and living God. This being said, we believe any other "god" is not-true and non-living. If we don't reject the opposite of our view, then we don't truly believe what we claim to affirm.

It is easy to spout your ideologies about what you do not know, and about a person you have no concept of or about a faith that is in your own eyes "stupid and ignorant" yet if any one attacks your "opinions" you call them "stupid and ignorant" in that you are saying your religion of what you believe is the only true religion - what gives you the right to say that? With what authority can you say that - absolutely none! Matter of fact you a mere man, are talking back to God, the one who holds your very life in his hands and at any time could remove it and you find yourself in an eternity without God and without Christ in which you are made into Hell. Yet you say you don't believe in Hell, well that is fine, one day it will be a reality to you. You will find it forever, and you will wish that some one spoke to you the good news - that is that Jesus Christ died for you sins, the same Jesus who knew no sin, committed no sin and became a sin offerring for you - who spit in his face and call God a liar, and say the things that you make him out to be - when you ought to tremble in fear of what you are committing against your soul for eternity

Your understanding of good is based on faulty arguments. Who is really good? Who has really done absolutely nothing wrong? Who has not said something wrong or bad against someone in their entire life? The verdict is in - all are guilty.

cite sources. where did you get the idea that religion has started more wars than any other reason. ever notice how in the first millenium A.D. imperialism was big? or how about WW2: racism. WW1: fear. American Civil War: politics, racism. War of 1812: politcs, racism

and really, if you believe that Christ isn't the Only way, then you have a problem by Biblical standards. Hell is reached by staying on that road of rejection towards Christ. eternal condemnation comes after Hell. if you wanna attack, atleast get the facts straight.

If you think Christians are boneheads, count yourself right along with us, buddy. You seem to not have a true understanding of what Scripture teaches. Yes, a lot of Christians can be very judgmental and unkind, but you need to review the Bible and realize that what they're saying is true, although they could definitely pick a better way of bringing it across.

Besides, atheists are just as egocentrical as Christians are, so I'll thank you not to single Christians out for something that is true of most people.

in africa there r places for ppl to go to get saved. and it becomes annoyoing when ignotrant ppl get annoyed bcuz they dont understand something. stop putting every christian in the same category suum who say they r arent. and it doesnt matter how many years u soent in chuch or how many good deeds u have done if u're heart isnt right with god u're in danger of facing damnation. and some ppl like u can take the unalterable truth. if this bothers u so much then dont b a christian. be atheist which i'm sure u r. just remeber u'll be held accountable on judgement day

I agree with you but if you don't believe in Christianity then why would you believe that you're going to hell IF you don't take christianity as your religion? Everything you said was perfectly logical until you came to the point where you talk about going to hell and not deserving eternal damnation just because you don't believe. If you don't believe, then you don't believe. Religion is a personal choice and I myself dislike ppl who try to convert you.

As Christians we believe that we are the one true religion. We don't WANT anybody to be damned to hell. It is our jobs as christians to try and save as many people from hell as possible. We want to help other religions and "children in Africa" see the light so they can go to heaven. Even if you are a good person if your not leading a christian lifestyle then whats the point!

1. Not all Christians are bone heads and not all Christians think like that.

2. God does not condemn "poor children in Africa." Go to www. afriprov.org to see how the spirit of God is certainly in Africa and was there long before any missionaries came.

3. No Christian has the right to judge another person. That is one of the basic tenets of Christianity. Many of them miss that.

4. THE law of Christianity is LOVE. Many Christians miss that point too. Jesus said that, not me.

5. So please don't judge us all by the bone-headed judgemental xenophobes.

Thank you-A Christian

As much as I like to tease my fellow humans who happen to be christians about their delusions; how much I enjoy showing them the logical and factual errors in their myths...

I can't ascribe "bone-headedness" to christians as an exclusive trait, or even a trait that's more common to christians than anyone else. In my travels around the world I've met lots of boneheads -- some christian, some buddhist, some muslim, some atheist, etc. There are indeed bonehead christians, just as there are bonehead atheists. It's not the religion or lack thereof that makes boneheads -- it's the personality of the individual.

Peace.
