In areas where the carpool lanes are posted for specific time periods, then anyone can use those lanes at other times. Since the rules for carpool lanes can vary widely from city to city, be sure that the area you are driving in has designated hours, and is not restricted usage 24/7.

yes........and if it doesn't list any specific hours, then you "can't" drive in that lane at all unless you are a carpool. be careful, though, b/c sometimes they require you to have at least 2 people in the car, others require you to have 3 people etc. the sign should specify how many you need to have. if it doesn't specify, you should be safe w/ just 2 people.
