My friends and I were joking around and ended up getting arrested when I was 16 and charged with a felony. B/C I was a minor, the record is "sealed."

However, a few years later, my friend is a police officer at the station that I was brought to. Is it possible for him to stumble across a file of my record? Is a file still kept? Was I supposed to pick it up?

Yes, the record still exists. No, you can't 'pick it up'. Legally the record can only be viewed with a court order. Is it POSSIBLE your friend could 'stumble' across your file? I doubt it, but he COULD find out you HAVE a file.

Sealed? Whats that? In my county (in CA) I know if you've been convicted or even booked into Juvenile Hall. This goes on the rest of your life. The details are unknown to me, but I would know when, if and what charges you were arrested on as a J.

The file is sealed and can only be opened with a court order.

why should there be any reason that your record would be dis
covered by anyone who is a close friend? and if he does see
it, does that mean that your world is going to crash? have you
done more against the law, than what you have said? why you
would not want him to see your record anyway? i have a recor
d upstate from many years ago, and it dont bother me to who
sees it today?
