Inkedgirl, give it up...they don't even GET your post. People are too lazy to do a search on what they are looking for OR they just have simply nothing better to do than ask questions and have the "power" to choose their favorite answer.
I just skip over that same 'ol s*** now - it is too annoying!

Give it a rest.
People are going to get what they want to. Seriously.
If a UV tattoo or an arm band is want, get over it. It's not your body. You don't like it? Don't look at it.
And no, not everyone thinks tattoo's hurt. I have a friend who enjoys the feeling because she says it tickles.
If you're going to say a tattoo hurt, I'm assuming that you think piercings hurt as well?
Everyone does, anyways.
I have 9 piercings and counting. I'm not stopping any time soon. And trust me when I say I'm the biggest baby ever.
If tattoos/piercings hurt like you say they do, they wouldn't be so common.
Live and let live.
Get over yourself.
You're not the surpreme tattoo goddess.
You don't get to bash your oponion on others saying that they're posers and they're ignorant if they don't agree with you.
"no boys will not like you more if you have a tramp stamp."
Actually, there are a few guys I know that LIKE the way a "tramp stamp" [lower back tattoo] looks. And it's bonus points to girls who have them. Not even to be used or the such. But some guys just like the way they look. Not that it makes you easy, because it doesn't.
There's no spot on your body that says "I'M A WHORE" if you get a tattoo there. Unless, of course, you get a tattoo saying that.
Yea. Anyways.
/endrant.
Thanks for the 2 points.

I agree with most of it. Especially the part about the "tramp stamp" tattoo not making the tramp but the girl. The only point I don't agree with is Kanjis and arm bands. That is more of an opinion and yes you are granted your own but personally, a Kanji suited me better than an actual dragon. Every tattoo is personal, I don't think it is as easy as cool or not when it comes to what looks good on one and not another. I do agree with the UV tattoo thing though ... UV ink ... what's the point if you have to be under a black light? Oh well, your body, your life- get it if you want to really. Anyway, you made some good points about tattoos in general. Most of those go for piercings as well!

I think you should be a little more open minded. I disagree with what you said about UV ink. It is still a REAL tattoo, done with the same equipment, done at a tattoo shop, and done the same way. I have two UV tattoos. It was my choice to get them that way. It does not make me a poser. The regulars in this section have seen my tattoos and have said that they actually liked them. Both of my tattoos are also tribal. I also have tribal heritage, though, as I have mentioned before in another post. Cherokee heritage can be traced back through my father's bloodline, and one of my great grandmothers from my mother's side of the family was pure blooded Choctaw Indian. I didn't get them to look "cool".
Now you've heard someone else's side of the story and meanings behind their tattoos.

I have sort of different out look.
Let me qualify first, I am sleeved on my right arm, have a lower piece on my back, have a tattoo on each ankle.
I do understand your post, I know exactly what you are saying.
But let me say when i get stares, comments questions about my work. I think of it as a way to down play those stereotypes, to educate people and let em know that I maybe not as freaky as they think I am. I also know that when I make choices that I also have a responsibility to stand by those choices.
So then after I open the door for that little old lady, the next time she sees a tattooed person she may rethink her views on them.

Ok I second all that except the part about uv ink, one of the guys on here has uv ink and it's quite bad ***, if I'm not mistaken he has a "real" tattoo with uv over it.
P.S. You forgot to add, getting your boyfriends name tattood on you is a bad idea, especially if you are only 16!

UV INK?...poser?. what?..i don't have UV ink but i just really think it's stupid how you're making it seem like people with tattoos are in some sort of group like the "preps" and "geeks"...
plus...just like tramp stamps dont' make you a whore...people don't get tribal arm bands to be cool..did you ever stop to think that they might like them?...same goes to uv ink..maybe they prefer uv ink...

Amazingly people are really that stupid. I see them everyday. When you give them a stupid answer they email you and tell you that you are crazy. It would be nice if this could get posted at the top of the tattoo column and tell everyone to read it before they post their first question.

Good job, now to make a difference you would have to post that question once a day for an extended period of time. I posted a few questions like this, more of a rant really, but they didn't seem to make a difference, people still ask the same questions over and over. Oh well.

the uv thing is the only one i disagree with, just because it depends where you live an what you like to do, i live in south FL. an alot of people go to the clubs here an nearly every one has blacklights an it looks awsome, an to the rave crowd that would probibly be the coolest thing to have cause they follow those type of gatherings
